After the great success with the Q8, Audi is ready to introduce a refreshed version of the famous Q7 model. The new SUV should be called the 2022 Audi Q7, and it will share many components with the flagship model Q8. Audi enhanced its looks, and we expect the Audi Q7 to be a carryover model.
Facelift for 2022 includes more angular headlights, taillights, and a more aggressive appearance. The interior also went through some changes, hosting more quality materials and a fixed touchscreen placed further down the dash. However, like its predecessor, the new Q7 offers the same three engine options.
2022 Audi Q7 Redesign
The Audi Q7 for 2022 receives mild redesign. However, compared to outgoing model, the new one features some improvements. The latest Q7 looks more attractive and it comes massive grille and LED turn-signal animation for the first time. Audi fans will also get opportunity to choose big wheels up to 22 inches in diameter.
The best of all, the Q7 comes with adaptive air suspension on the Premium Plus level, resulting in great ride quality and handling. This system from Audi statement can raise the ride height by 2.4 inches, depending on terrain.
Modern and Premium Interior
The new 2022 Audi Q7 is the highly refined 3-row midsize luxury SUV that offers a modern and comfy interior. Generally, it provides luggage space behind the third row of 14.2 cubic feet. For comparison, the Mercedes-Benz GLE has 22 cubic feet of space behind its optional third row.
In terms of technology, the Q7 has a lot of them. The standard model host a high-resolution 12.3-inch digital driver-information display, also known as a virtual cockpit, allowing the user to access engine speeds, plus satellite navigation images, without having to look at the central screen. Besides, the new Q7 is also available with 3-zone automatic climate control, a dual-screen infotainment system, featuring 10.1-inch upper screen and an 8.6-inch display beneath it.
2022 Audi Q7 Under the Hood
The forthcoming 2022 Audi Q7 has three powertrain options. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 248-horsepower. Next up is the potent 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 making 335 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque.
Finally, the range-topping SQ7 version version is powered by a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8, delivering 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque . All three engines are available as standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Is 2022 Audi Q7 Worth the Money?
At this moment, there is no official release date for the 2022 Audi Q7. However, some gossips indicate that we should expect it to arrive in the late spring or early summer of 2021. Like the release date, the 2022 Q7’s pricing is also unconfirmed.
However, considering that there are no significant changes, we expect inflationary price increases. The current model begins at $56,045 for the regular version, and it can go up to $86,095 for the fully loaded SQ7. In the same class are many competitors, and the closest ones are BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, and Lincoln Aviator.
