German’s most compact SUV, the 2023 BMW X3, is ready to introduce a slightly revised front and rear fascia’s. The new SUV will arrive next year, as the 2023 model years. This SUV has been on the market since 2017, and it’s one of the most wanted in the segment. The first testing mule was recently caught with some visual changes.
On the other hand, the cabin will be more modern, offering better comfort and plenty of standard features. You can choose a four powertrains starting on a fuel-efficient gasoline unit, a 48-volt light hybrid diesel engine, a plug-in hybrid X3 xDrive30e, and now also the new iX3 electric SAV.
2023 BMW X3 Redesign
The first spy shots of the 2023 BMW X3 are available, and it seems that the manufacturer has been slightly redesign the front and rear fascia. First of all, the spied model is wearing mild camo on the front and rear, but it’s still easy to spot some changes. Interestingly, the attractive separated grill is present, as the new headlight graphics.
Furthermore, it looks that the grille will be enlarged slightly compared to the current one. The side profile is primarily intact, and the new BMW X3 rolls on the beautiful gray wheels. On the back, we noticed new slimmer taillights, as we saw on the latest X5 model. Also, a new exhaust system is present, providing a sportier stance to this SUV.
Cabin Changes
On the inside, the upcoming 2023 BMW X3 will be more modern for sure. In addition, BMW is in the process of updating and adding more technology to help differentiate its styling from the rest models in the class. That means we can expect the new bigger infotainment system and many available amenities as standard.
The current model comes with a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen or an optional 10.25-inch display.
On top of that, the manufacturer added a new all-digital instrument panel that replaces the analog gauges with a fully configurable 12.3-inch screen. Generally speaking, this trend firstly introduced Audi with its Virtual Cockpit. Besides, we also presume much more comfort and more quality materials.
2023 BMW X3 Powertrain Options
Under the hood, BMW offers X3 with four engine options. An entry-level, the sDrive30i and xDrive30i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder developing 248 horsepower. Moving up to the X3 M40i, the manufacturer uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 producing 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive30e is the plug-in hybrid version, and it pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter and battery-fed electric motor. Combined, it produces a total of 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
On top of that, the xDrive30e can travel up to 18 miles on electricity alone. Hybrid mode goes up to 68 mph on electric power alone and up to 84 mph in Electric mode. For power-hungry users, the X3 M is the best choice. This model comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 making 473 horsepower or 503 horsepower. All models have 8-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date, Price
We should expect the new 2023 BMW X3 to debut sometime next year. Also, the prototype BMW X4 was spied facelift, so we assume its official premiere due around the same period as the X3. Pricing is still early to determine, but expect a slight increase.
The current model starts at $43,000, and it can go up to $80,000 for a powerful X3 M. At its base point, the X3 is in line with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.
