The 2023 BMW X4 is an upcoming SUV that looks more stylish than its twin brother the X3. Moreover, unlike the X3 model, the forthcoming X4 comes with a very attractive design, featuring sloping roofline. It also has a roomier cabin that feels very elegant thanks to plenty of infotainment goodies and quality materials as well.

As before, the new X4 will be available with a few turbocharged engines. The base BMW X4 xDrive30i is motivated with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 248 horsepower. However, if you’re in the mood for something faster, the manufacturer is also offering a powerful X4 M with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder that produces a beefy 473 horsepower.

For 2023, the forthcoming 2023 BMW X4 will get some small tweaks that will make it more eye-catchy. As far as we know, the manufacturer will bring a much bigger grille, flanked by more thinner LED headlights.

Also, the front and rear bumpers have been revised as well. At the back, everything remains the same mostly, only visible difference is a new taillight. Much sportier is the X4 M including adaptive M suspension, Active M differential, better aerodynamic, and 20-inch alloy wheels. However, the more powerful X4 M Competition adds a new M exhaust system and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The new 2023 BMW X4 like its X3 stablemate featuring a very modern cabin. However, the BMW X4 sports more supportive seats that are covered in simulated leather. Overall, the X4’s cabin is made of very premium materials and compared to its direct rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Coupe and the Audi Q5 Sportback, the X4 doesn’t lack too much.

The BMW X4 comes standard with gorgeous dual 12.3-inch digital displays, navigation, Wi-Fi, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. If this is not enough for you, you can go for the X4 M which includes leather upholstery and the Harman Kardon system. Safety is enhanced for 2023YM, and you can expect the more advanced Active Driving Assistant, as well as post-crash braking and driver fatigue/focus monitoring.

2023 BMW X4 Powertrain Options

Beneath the hood, the 2023 BMW X4 is available with a few very potent turbo engines. The most basic model uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit making 248 horsepower. More powerful is an optional M40i that has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid (MHEV) system. Thanks to that, this model is capable of producing 382 horses.

For the real enthusiastic, the manufacturer offers the X4 M with the same 3.0-liter inline-6, but it develops 473 horsepower. The Competition model is available as well, which increases power to 503 horsepower. No matter which model you choose, you’ll get all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

When Can We Expect the 2023 BMW X4?

The refreshed 2023 BMW X4 will reportedly hit showrooms at the beginning of next year. Besides small exterior revisions, the forthcoming model will also come with a more modern cabin. Like before, the BMX X4 will be available in two different trims including a xDrive30i model that cost $52, 800, and the M40i model with a price of $63,400.

The X4 M is around $74k, while the Competition costs an extra $7k. As you can see, the X4 is not an affordable SUV at all. With the same price you can get Audi Q5 Sportback that is under the $50,000 mark or even the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe about $53k.
