The all-new 2023 BMW XM will arrive next year, and it will be slotted between X6 and the three-row X7 in BMW’s SUV lineup. From what we know, the forthcoming model will be performance-oriented, and it should come with a very spacious cabin. At this point, the manufacturer releases some of the concept images, and thanks to that we have a clear look at how this model will look like. For a start, the XM wears aggressive design with gaping kidney-shaped grille openings and a slightly sloped roof.

BMW claims that the XM will use a 750-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain and a muscle twin-turbocharged V8. With a fully charged battery, the XM electric-only driving is by claim around 30 miles, which is more than enough for the city drive.

2023 BMW XM Design

The 2023 BMW XM is still in its concept form, and we don’t have any idea how it will end up at the end. As far as we can see, the XM will depart from the rest of the BMW’s models thanks to more sharper lines that make it more futuristic.

The upcoming XM wears an aggressive design, and it comes with a gaping kidney-shaped grille and a slightly sloped roof. In general, it has more fastback shape than the other X models in line. On the back, we noticed the similar taillight that we saw on the BMW 8-series. No doubt, it looks sporty, and we like the new stacked tailpipes.

First Look Inside

On the inside, the 2023 BMW XM will be no less attractive than its sibling X7. One concept image of the upcoming SUV is available, and as we can see, the XM will look very sporty, modern and spacious. Unlike the X7 model that comes with three rows of seats, the new XM will be available only with two rows. However, dimensionally it will be the same as the X7 model, so expect more comfort inside for the passengers behind. We also noticed that the concept model comes with a leather upholstery, but BMW will likely add more subdued materials for a final touch.

In terms of technology, this SUV will probably offer more features than the X7 model. The image reveals the center stack that’s decorated in carbon fiber with bronze accents and a curved display stretches across the dashboard, serving as a digital gauge cluster as well as on-board infotainment. We’re expecting standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and features such as Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and premium stereo system as well.

2023 BMW XM Engine Specs

The upcoming high-performance 2023 BMW XM will reportedly use a PHEV system paired with a very proven 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. From the latest information, this combination would be able to make more than 750 horses. On top of that, the XM will come with a battery pack that should provide on electric-only around 30 miles.

We also expect this model to use as standard Xdrive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, battery capacity, charging time, and other hybrid details are not yet officially available.

Release Date, Price

The new 2023 BMW XM is an upcoming PHEV SUV that will appear in showrooms sometime next year. We heard some rumors and believe that the XM model will see the light of the day in the second half of 2022.

At this moment, BMW hasn’t said anything about how much XM will cost or how many trim levels will be available. In general, we’re expecting a starting price to be above the six-figure mark or roughly estimated at around $125,000.
