The all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the company’s first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle segment. This SUV looks futuristic, featuring sharp styling and a modern cabin. Cadillac recently reveals that the Lyriq will be available with either a single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration. On top of that, the Lyriq will place a very large battery into the floor, delivering a driving range of more than 300 miles.
The company claims that the low center of gravity and a spacious cabin are benefits of the new EV-architecture used on the upcoming SUV. The Lyriq will reportedly go on sale sometime in early 2022 as a 2023 model.
2023 Cadillac Lyriq First Look
The forthcoming 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the company’s first SUV that will be offered as an all-electric. In terms of design, the new model looks futuristic, with the front end that dominates.
The Lyriq’s exterior stands out by the attractive LED lighting signature and blade-like lighting elements. Dimensionally, this SUV has a 121.8-inch wheelbase and is longer than the Escalade. It also features stylish standard 20-inch wheels or optional 22-inch wheels providing a sportier look.
Interior
On the inside, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq offers a very spacious cabin, with a traditional rear bench seat. Cadillac says that thanks to the new EV-architecture, the cabin of the Lyriq will allow plenty of space for passengers. The highlight inside is definitively the Lyriq’s dashboard that dominates with a giant 33.0-inch curved advanced LED display.
According to Cadillac, the screen will serve as both the infotainment system and the driver’s gauge display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard, while a 19-speaker stereo system from AKG comes optional.
2023 Cadillac Lyriq Specs
The new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq comes standard with rear-wheel drive using one electric motor on the rear axle. As an optional, you can get all-wheel drive that adds a second motor at the front. Cadillac claims that the Lyriq will be able to produce 340 horsepower. As the Jaguar I-Pace, the new Lyriq will leap to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
General Motors will for the first time use a new EV battery technology called Ultium. Cadillac will reportedly add 100-kWh battery capacity that should be enough for a range of 300 miles per charge. DC fast charging capability is standard as well as the cables for charging this SUV on home power outlets.
2023 Cadillac Lyriq Price, Release Date
The new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will be available in four trims. The entry-level model Luxury starts at $60,000, Premium Luxury at $70,000, Sport at $80,000, and the Platinum at $90,000.
Anyway, the Lyriq will go on sale sometime in early 2022 as a 2023 model. It will be available in two forms including either a rear-wheel drive with one electric motor or all-wheel drive model with two electric motors. When it goes on sale, the Lyriq will go head to head with models such as the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.
