The redesigned variant 2023 Cadillac XT5 is reportedly in the works. This model is one of the most important SUVs to Cadillac. It looks compact, attractive, and its sales figures are growing. Interestingly, from the information that we got, the second-generation SUV will not be going all-electric as many believed.
Generally speaking, that task has already been assigned to the recently introduced Lyriq. Nevertheless, the new model will ride on an updated version of the current C1 platform, very appropriately called C1-2. So, we can expect the same turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four as the base engine, while the optional engine will either be the familiar 3.6-liter V6 or the new turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Redesign
The Cadillac XT5 is a luxury SUV that looks attractive. Reportedly, the automaker is busy preparing the second-generation model. According to the latest news, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will be redesigned, and it should introduce more uniqueness.
Refreshed last year, the XT5 has remained a popular choice among many SUVs. However, the competition has increased considerably, and with that, we mean on the Genesis GV80. Besides the revised grille, new headlights, and slimmer taillights, the 2023 XT5 will ride on an updated version of the current C1 platform. From what we heard, the platform will be appropriately called C1-2.
More Modern Interior
On the inside, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 should be more modern, providing excellent support thanks to comfortable seats. As before, this SUV will come with two rows of seats with room to fit five passengers. The interior, in particular, is the main focus of the automaker, and the XT5 comes with improved materials and fit and finish.
Unlike the previous generation, the new one offers more standard equipment. Inside, you’ll found a power-adjustable front seat, sliding and reclining back seats, heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Equally important, the XT5 will also receive Escalade’s 38-inch curved OLED screen that dominates the market.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Engine Specs
Under the hood, we presume the 2023 Cadillac XT5 to use the same turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four as the current model. This engine is potent, and it produces 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. From what we heard, the optional engine will either be the familiar 3.6-liter V6 or the new turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four.
All variants should use a nine-speed automatic as the sole transmission, and all-wheel drive will be optional once again. We must note that GM’s recent announcement that it will phase out combustion-engined vehicles entirely by 2035. So, we can expect in the near future that Cadillac XT5 gain some sort of electrification similar to the Lyriq.
Release Date, Price
The release date of the 2023 Cadillac XT5 is set for the following year. Some gossips indicating that we can expect it to debut in the summertime.
As we mentioned, the new model will receive some refreshments, including a better outlook and even more standard features. As for the pricing, the current one costs $43,000, while the new one should be no less than $50,000.
