The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer is a subcompact crossover SUV that will receive some small refreshments later this year. From what we know, Chevy doesn’t make any big changes to the Trailblazer, but it’s added some new paint colors like Nitro Yellow Metallic, Fountain Blue, and Sterling Gray Metallic, as well as an optional Iridescent Pearl Tricoat roof color.
As the outgoing model, the new one will use the same engine setup as the current Encore GX. The Trailblazer comes with two different turbocharged three-cylinder engines, a 1.2-liter and a 1.3-liter. As far as we know, the base engine makes 137 horsepower, while optional one generates 155 horses.
2023 Chevy Trailblazer Exterior Design
The new 2023 Chevy Trailblazer has a very attractive design, and all depends on chosen model. The Activ model, for example, has a bit of an off-roading emphasis, and it includes skidplate, trim-specific wheel design, and “sport terrain” tires.
On the other hand, the RS model, which is my favorite, comes with more blacked accents. In general, both the Activ and RS Trailblazers can be ordered in Nitro Yellow Metallic, while Fountain Blue is exclusively offered with only the RS model.
Cabin Upgrades
Inside, you’ll find a lot of black plastics, which is not so good. However, the new SUV is textured nicely, and it comes with very supportive seats. Just like the outgoing model, the new one offers two-rows of seats and enough room for up to five passengers. The rear legroom is 39.4 inches, while 60/40 split/folding rear seats open a luggage area of 25.3 cubic feet, which can be expanded to 54.4 cubic feet when folded flat.
As standard, the Trailblazer comes with an updated infotainment system of 7-inch touchscreen. Also, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, satellite radio, one USB-A port, one USB-C port, and six speakers are all standard.
2023 Chevy Trailblazer Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer is available with the same engines you can find with the Encore GX. There are two different turbo three-cylinder engines, a 1.2-liter and a 1.3-liter. According to the manufacturer, the base engine is capable of producing 137 horsepower, while optional one generates 155 horses.
The 1.2-liter base engine only comes with front-wheel drive, and it uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). However, the more powerful option 1.3-liter offers optional all-wheel drive. The acceleration of a 1.3-liter all-wheel drive Trailblazer runs to 60 miles per hour in a 9.4 seconds.
How Much is a 2023 Trailblazer?
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2023 Trailblazer starts at $21,800, for LS trim. Add $2,000 more, and you’ll get an all-wheel drive and the bigger engine. The next-up is the LT model that costs $24,000, while the Activ and RS models are $25,900.
Rivals that are in the same class and ballpark with the Chevy Trailblazer are Mazda CX-30, Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and the new 2023 Honda HR-V. The sales of the Trailblazer will begin at some point in 2022, most likely in the last quarter of the year.
