More and more automakers are focused on electric vehicles, as the auto market currently requires. Yet, this is not just a temporary trend, EVs are here to stay and to introduce an exciting future to us. No car brand is immune to these changes, so we can see new solutions even from manufacturers which are not so prone to innovations. To show you some of the most popular models which will soon be available for purchase, we made an interesting list:
2023 Cadillac Lyriq
The new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the company’s first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market. This SUV looks elegant, and it offers very sharp styling and a modern cabin. Like the recently introduced Escalade, the upcoming Lyriq will come with the same spacious cabin, dominated by a giant 33.0-inch curved advanced LED display. Cadillac also says there will be single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive models, both connected to a General Motors’ new battery. On top of that, they claim the SUV will be able to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge. Based on rumors, the new SUV should be on sale sometime later in 2022 as a 2023 model.

2023 Genesis GV60
Genesis is working on the new GV60 all-electric SUV, which will be the second electric model for its lineup of luxury cars. The forthcoming model will share a platform with the Kia EV6, and it will use the same motor setup as the G80 sedan. On top of that, it looks attractive, compact, and it will incorporate styling elements from the other Genesis models. Inside, the cabin looks very premium, and the manufacturer used a large monolithic display screen serving as both a gauge cluster and infotainment system. As for the engine setup, the GV60 will use a rear-wheel drive setup that should provide 314-hp. We also expect a performance model with two motors and combined horsepower of 429. Genesis claims that this model will go on sale sometime next year.

2023 Subaru Solterra
The upcoming 2023 Subaru Solterra is the Japanese automaker’s first EV compact crossover that will arrive next year. This SUV looks elegant, and it rides on the new Toyota platform, which is also planned to underpin other future models. If you didn’t know, Subaru and Toyota teamed up to co-develop the platform for this 2023 EV SUV. Looking to the new Solterra you’ll notice many visually and mechanically similarities with the forthcoming Toyota bZ4X. However, Subaru Solterra has a more pleasing name and much more attractive body lines. Subaru claims that with two electric motor setups, this SUV has an estimated range of 220-plus miles. It also generates a combined 215 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. The release of Solterra will happen sometime in the year, starting at $37,000.

2023 Tesla Model Y
The 2023 Tesla Model Y is an upcoming all-electric crossover SUV that looks stylish, providing lots of driving ranges for an EV. Surprising, Tesla recently added a 3rd row, allowing seating for 5-7 people. Unfortunately, the 3rd row of seats can only be got with the Long-Range model. As far as we know, for 2023YM, the manufacture will increase the price by around $3,000, and it will reduce the millage from a max of 318 miles to 314 miles. Anyway, as the Model 3 sedan, the forthcoming Model Y will use the same platform that will handle a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive (AWD). We expect the Tesla Model Y to have a starting price of roughly $61,000 for the entry-level Long-Range model.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE
The new all-electric 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV prototype has been recently spied testing, and it looks similar to the EQS model. However, unlike the EQS model, the forthcoming EQE comes with smaller rear doors and a trunk section. The front of this SUV is also different, featuring an attractive grille and shorter hood that’s positioned not quite as high. Unfortunately, at this moment there’s no shot of the interior, but we expect design to match up with the EQE sedan. This means buyers can look forward to the large infotainment system and many amenities.
Beside similar exterior and interior, the EQE SUV will most likely use the same powertrain setup as the EQE sedan. So, we can expect the same 90-kilowatt-hour battery and a single motor that should develop 288 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. As for range, the EQE will provide a maximum EPA-rated range of 350 miles. It’s also possible that Mercedes will launch a high-performance EQS model as well. We expect the Mercedes-Benz EQE to hit showrooms later this year with a price of around $100k.

2023 BMW iX
The 2023 BMW iX is an upcoming all-electric SUV, which is slated to go on sale next year. As far as we know, the new model will be Bavarians’ next flagship, featuring a very attractive and futuristic design. BMW claims that thanks to a powerful electric motor and large battery capacity, this SUV will be able to develop a combined output of 516 horsepower. They also stated that we can expect 300 miles of range and support for DC fast charging up to 200 kW. Besides this model, the manufacturer will probably introduce a sportier iX M60 version, which should offer some extra horsepower and upgraded chassis as well. Based on many rumors, the new flagship model should start at $84,194, and it will go on sale sometime next year.
2023 Chevrolet Equinox EV
General Motors has recently confirmed it will launch the new 2023 Chevrolet Equinox EV in the fall of 2023. Like many GMs electric models, the Chevy Equinox EV will ride on the new BEV3 platform. It will also use the Ultium battery and Ultium Drive technologies. Chevy hasn’t yet released many details, but we expect a driving range of close to 300 miles per charge. However, GM released some images of the upcoming Chevy Equinox EV, and it looks very handsome and sporty. Unlike the original model, the EV comes with unique front and rear fascia designs, and different alloy wheels. The cabin is futuristic as well thanks to a digital instrument panel, and a large centrally mounted infotainment display. Chevrolet says the Equinox EV will arrive next year and it should have a starting price of $30,000.
2023 Porsche Macan EV
The forthcoming 2023 Porsche Macan EV is an all-new SUV that will distance itself from the combustion-engine model. The prototype of this model was spied testing a few weeks ago, and it looks pretty handsome. It features more attractive design than its sibling Taycan thanks to a unique front end and extra body cladding. We also noticed a new sloped roofline rear spoiler, along with Porsche’s typical fake exhaust tips.
The German cars are very well-known for their quality, and the Porsche Macan EV should not be an exception. As Porsche claims, the new Macan will ride on a Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which is opposite of the MLB platform that is used on the original one. Inside, it will use a large central infotainment screen and Porsche’s new-generation fully digital, curved gauge cluster. It will also provide four-wheel drive, using a motor on each axle. The most powerful version will reportedly be able to offer at least 700 horsepower, which is much more than the Taycan offers 562 horses. We expect this model to debut later in the year.
