Genesis unveiled last week the GV70 electrified at Auto Guangzhou. From what we know, the forthcoming 2023 Genesis GV70 is the third EV in the Korean luxury brand lineup. The manufacturer currently offers the electrified G80 and the smaller GV60.

However, there are also rumors that along this model, Genesis will release a much bigger GV90 model as well. The Electrified GV70 uses dual-motor setup, providing all-wheel-drive as standard. Together, the electric motors will be able to deliver a combined output of 483 hp and 516 lb.-ft. According to the news, we can expect this all-electric luxury compact SUV to go on sale sometime next year.

2023 Genesis GV70 Design

In terms of design, the new 2023 Genesis GV70 will look attractive just like its sibling G70 model. Generally speaking, there are subtle differences between the electric and its fuel-based counterpart. Out front, the GV70 comes with a closed grille opening, which integrates a hidden EV charging port.

Upon closer observation, we also noticed the functional side air vents and updated lower radiator grille. Thanks to that, the new GV70 will have improved aerodynamics. At the rear, Genesis removed the exhaust outlets and diffuser, and the GV70 looks sportier, in our opinion. Besides Atacama Copper Matte exterior paint, we also expect the manufacturer to offer Blue, Red and so on.

Cabin Expectations

Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn’t reveal how the GV70 would look like inside. As far as we know, the new 2023 Genesis GV70 will be no less modern than the G70 model. We expect this model to offer two-rows of seats and enough room for five passengers with decent cargo.

Considering the GV70 is smaller than its GV80 sibling, we presume that it will be able to accommodate average-sized adults on the back. As the Sport Prestige Package that is available with non-EV model, the GV70 will feature Nappa leather seat upholstery with suede inserts, 3-zone climate control, heated 2nd-row seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and also a head-up display.

2023 Genesis GV70 Engine Specs

The forthcoming 2023 Genesis GV70 will be an all electric SUV that will be powered by dual-motor setup. Genesis revealed that one motor is mounted at the front axle and another at the rear, resulting in all-wheel-drive configuration. Together, the electric motors should deliver combined output of around 483 hp and 516 lb.-ft.

Genesis also claims the GV70 will be able to run from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds. While Genesis did not reveal the battery size, we expect the GV70 to deliver approximately 249 miles of range. It will likely handle up to a 350-kW charge rate, allowing the battery to be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

Release Date, Price

Genesis did not reveal the exact release date of the GV70, but from the information that we got, it will be available sometime next year. The 2023 Genesis GV70 is a pure example that the manufacturer is growing its EV lineup, and that we can expect more models in the near future.

Unfortunately, at this point, Genesis didn’t reveal any information about its price. Many believe that it will cost around $60,000, which is more than enough to lure many buyers.
