The 2023 Hyundai Kona will reportedly receive small updated exterior and interior styling, as well as tech features. In case you didn’t know, this model was redesigned last year, and the manufacturer introduces a new sporty N Line trim. So, after a substantial refresh last year, we expect the new SUV to probably be a carryover model.

Interestingly, the newly captured spy shots of the forthcoming model are available, and they hinted at a small refresh and similar styling cues as we saw on the larger Hyundai Tucson. However, as before, the new Kona will be available with four engine options.

2023 Hyundai Kona Exterior

As we said, there are some spy shots of the 2023 Hyundai Kona model, which shows some small upgrades over the current generation. First of all, we noticed that the prototype was wearing some styling cues taken from the larger Hyundai Tucson.

Nevertheless, the styling is attractive, and as the current Tucson, the Kona features a wide grille, while the reshaped headlights are located near the bottom of the front fascia. We also noticed a slimmer daytime running lights and more sculpted hood. The rear end is also stylish, and the Kona features thin taillights, a chunky rear bumper, and rugged body cladding.

Updated Interior

On the inside, the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Kona will reportedly get a slightly updated dashboard with a larger infotainment system placed on top of the dashboard. The seating arrangement will remain the same, and this SUV through 2-rows has the ability to fit five occupants.

There’s more room compared to the outgoing model, as the rear seats have roughly an extra half-inch of rear legroom. On the other hand, the Kona Electric mostly offers the same. However, unlike the base model, the Electric variant features an expansive center console that splits HVAC and infotainment controls.

The forthcoming 2023 Hyundai Kona is the SUV that will be available with four different setups. The base model uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower, while the next optional is a turbocharged 1.6-liter that develops 195 horsepower.

The high-performance Kona N is the new entry to the SUV world, featuring a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 276 hp. The highlight is definitively the Kona Electric, which comes with an electric motor that makes 201 hp and it uses a 64-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. With this setup, this model can range 258 miles on a single charge.

Hyundai will, according to many reports, release its new SUV later this year as the 2023 model. As a carryover model, this SUV will probably have a similar price tag as the current one.
