The small luxury 2023 Infiniti QX55 SUV will arrive next year, riding on the same platform as its sibling QX50. This model emphasizes sporty styling and is a fresh addition to the Infiniti lineup. In general, don’t expect seismic changes compared to the QX50, but you should easily recognize it on the road. The main differences between these two models are the lower roofline and tapered tail that gives the Infiniti QX55 an edgier appearance.

Performance is enthusiastic, and under the hood, this SUV uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, producing 268-horsepower. It’s also coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD).

2023 Infiniti QX55 Design

The design of the 2023 Infiniti QX55 will vary a little bit depending on trim level. Buyers will be able to choose from Luxe, Essential and Sensory levels. In general, even the base Luxe grade offers plenty of standard equipment.

Like the EQX50 model, the QX55 sits on the same platform, with similar design cues. However, as we mentioned, the main differences between the models are the lower roofline and tapered tail. Thanks to that, the QX55 has edgier appearance compared to the Infiniti QX50.

Cabin Equipment

Like the exterior, the interior design is also similar to the QX50. However, considering the QX55 is a coupe-like crossover, it has less storage due to its sloped roof. Actually, with the rear seats folded, you’ll get around 54.1 cubic feet versus 60 in the QX50.

As standard equipment, the upcoming SUV comes with a dual-screen infotainment system. The upper screen is only for navigation and smartphone-compatible controls, while the lower one serves for temperature and media inputs. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as well as multiple electronic driver-assist features. The QX55 includes blind spot warning and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking.

2023 Infiniti QX55 Under the Hood

Beneath the hood of the 2023 Infiniti QX55 is a proven turbocharged engine that delivers plenty of power. The QX55 draws power from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, producing 268-horsepower. It also uses a continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD).

The QX50 is offered with the same engine as well, but it comes with front-wheel drive. Of course, all-wheel drive is optional. The maximum towing capacity of the QX55 could be around 3,000 pounds with the optional tow package. Unfortunately, the EPA fuel economy is not yet rated. Generally speaking, we expect this model to be more economics than its sibling.

Price, Release Date

The new 2023 Infiniti QX55 will come sometime next year with an estimated starting price of about $47,000 for the entry-level Luxe trim. Compared to the base QX50, this is roughly $8,000 more. As we mentioned, both models share the same platform, powertrain, and many of the standard features.

In general, that’s a big financial step upward, especially with a fully-loaded QX55 that tops out at $57,000. Anyway, the QX55 still costs thousands less than rivals like the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
