The new 2023 Jeep Compass is about to arrive with more upgrades than the current generation. Reportedly, this SUV will receive a new interior and refreshed front end, making it more competitive than ever. We also expect Jeep Compass to be available in five trims, including Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Trailhawk, and Limited.

Under the hood, this model is powered by a sole engine option. It uses a 2.4-liter inline-4 that produces 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on Sport and Latitude models, while all-wheel drive is available on other ones. The maximum towing with this engine is 2,000 lbs, and Jeep doesn’t recommend trying to pull with FWD.

2023 Jeep Compass Exterior

Jeep tweaked the exterior for 2023 but nothing significant. The new model still looks attractive, and its front fascia reminiscent us of the more prominent Grand Cherokee with the signature 7-slat grille upfront.

In general, the look of the Compass can be changed a bit depending on the trim. For example, if you get the Trailhawk model, you’ll get a more rugged appearance and excellent off-road capabilities. Moreover, choosing the Limited trim, there is a more premium, upmarket look. Proportionally, the Compass falls somewhere between subcompact and compact. Compared to the Jeep Renegade, it’s bigger but is smaller than the Jeep Cherokee.

Interior Features

The Jeep Compass interior got an upgrade last year, and because of that, we don’t expect any significant changes. The cabin will remain roomy, with enough space to fit all passengers comfortably. You get cargo space of 27 cubic feet or 60 cubic feet with the seats folded down. In general, the interior is pretty dated compared to tough competition. Inside, you’ll find a sleek and modern design with a new steering wheel, a new dash, and new infotainment systems. The Compass uses a big 8.4-inch screen, which becomes the standard infotainment system in this class.

Moreover, you can still upgrade to a more feature-rich 10.1-inch unit. Adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera are available optionally or standard choosing the trims Trailhawk and Limited.
