The following year will be one of the most exciting for SUV lovers. From reports that we got, Jeep company will release a legendary off-road model Wrangler with many improvements. The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler, besides a more robust design, will also gain many upgrades inside. The roots of this famous SUV date from World War II, where it is credited for helping bring victory to the Allies.
Like the previous generations, the new one will be offered as a 2-door or the more popular and Wrangler Unlimited 4-door. All models are unique with a soft-top that can be removed, along with the doors. On the other hand, this SUV is one of the rarest that comes with five engine options, of which one is a PHEV Wrangler 4xe.
2023 Jeep Wrangler Exterior and Interior Upgrades
The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is an attractive SUV with a boxy design. This model is available in two forms. The 2-door model is not so popular markedly shorter at just 166.8 inches in length. However, the 4-door Unlimited model is nearly 20 inches longer, which makes it a more popular choice. All models come with a soft-top and attractive rounded LED headlights. Also, the doors can be removed and the windshield folded, which is ideal on an open-air adventure. The Rubicon and High Altitude 4xe Wranglers get more attractive Electric Blue front and rear tow hooks.
The interior is also a mix of traditional and modern styling. The 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a beter option that allows a rear seat to holds up to three people for a total capacity of five passengers. The dash is clean, and it comes with a center screen that ranges in size from 5 to 8.4 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on this generation will arrive as standard.
2023 Jeep Wrangler Powertrain
We think that under the hood, everything will remain the same. The Jeep Wrangler is one of the unique SUVs that offers five engine options. The base one come with a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower using a 6-speed manual transmission. However, there is an option to get an 8-speed automatic transmission. With that engine, buyers will also get an eTorque mild hybrid system to enhance fuel economy.
Besides, there is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that has good horsepower 260, and torque of 442 lb-ft. The most potent engine is under the bonnet of the Rubicon model. This engine uses a 6.4-liter V8 delivering 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to this engine, the Wrangler accelerates to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and it still tackles off-road trails with ease.
Wrangler 4xe Specs
The most popular in the segment is the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This model is the first model in the Jeep`s lineup that’s using a PHEV system. This model uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 and electric motors, resulting in 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. Thanks to that, this variant is rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Like all Wranglers models, the 4xe PHEV comes standard with a start/stop system to cut engine power at idle.
2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto – Fully Electric SUV
The manufacturer also announced that the new 2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto is in the works. This variant is expected to arrive at the beginning of 2022, featuring an all-electric system. Unlike the standard model that uses a 3.6 liter V-6, the Magneto comes with an electric motor that is connected to a six-speed manual transmission. In addition, it also drains power from a four lithium-ion battery packs located in the cargo area, providing a total of 70 kWh. With such battery, this SUV should provide around 210 miles on a single charge.
The whole system will deliver at least 285 hp, 260 lb-ft, and 6,600 rpm. The upcoming SUV also features a 2.0-inch lift kit, rock rails, 35-inch tires, and a Warn winch. On top of that, Jeep says the Magneto concept can run from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. For comparison, the standard Wrangler with the V6 needs around 7.4 seconds to reach 60 mph.
