The new-generation 2023 Kia Sportage is coming, and it should introduce many upgrades and changes. First of all, this model comes with a more attractive styling that is hugely different from the current model. Basically, most of the changes are happening at the front and rear.
Official photos are available, and we first noticed a new Kia logo, alien-looking headlights, and distinct grille design. Kia hasn’t revealed how much the 2023 Sportage would cost and what trim levels will be available. We expect the redesigned model to come sometime next year, probably in the fall time.
2023 Kia Sportage Redesign
If you’re looking for a family SUV, then the 2023 Kia Sportage is worth waiting for. The current model debuted in 2016 as the 2017 model year, and it took much attention. The Sportage’s styling is great, and the front fascia dominates across the segment. For 2023, the manufacturer has done some modifications adding boomerang running lights and the new “Digital Tiger Face, featuring a contemporary grille. Overall, the design is more futuristic for sure, and it is mostly aimed at the younger population. Below the grille, there is a wide lower intake and fog lamps.
The side profile is also deeply sculpted, featuring kicked-up D-pillar garnish and a great floating black-finished roof. However, at the back, we can see some similarities with the recently introduced EV6. The larger LED taillights are present as the unique skid plate.
Cabin Looks More Luxurious
Inside, the new 2023 Kia Sportage looks incredible. First of all, there is a roomy cabin and plenty of storage inside. Sportage is highlighted with a massive digital display on the dashboard and other various eye-catching details. Stepping into this SUV, you’ll love every detail.
From the first image that we got, the design inside is fresh thanks to an attractive two-tone color scheme, and the great details of the air vents on the dash are particularly distinct. Also, the center console comes with a rotary shift knob, a push-to-start button, and myriad other controls that perfectly blend into the piano-black bezel. However, Kia didn’t reveal yet what kind of trim levels will be available.
2023 Kia Sportage Powertrain Specs
Kia didn’t release any mechanical details about the new 2023 Sportage. However, from rumors that we heard, it seems that the new model will borrow the same powertrain from the Hyundai Tucson. That means we can expect a 2.5-liter inline-four that will serve as the base engine with possible hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.
We also hope that Kia will add a more powerful turbo 2.5-liter four as an optional upgrade. As for the transmission, the manufacturer will probably use the same proven six-speed automatic as in the previous generation. We also heard that engines would be more fuel-efficient than before.

Many believe that debut will happen in the fall time. As for the pricing, the manufacturer didn’t yet revealed any information, but according to many speculations, it should cost around $26,000. Moreover, expect more details about the U.S. spec in the coming months.
