The 2023 Lexus RX will reportedly go on sale in the U.S. by the end of the year. According to Lexus, the whole lineup of RX models including RX 350, RX 350h, RX450h, and RX 550h F Sport will be refreshed, and buyers can expect several new powertrains as well.

So far, the RX models were offered in either two or three-row configurations, but the upcoming model has been promoted only as a two-row version. However, the three-row variant may join the lineup later. Along with the standard model, the manufacturer will also introduce a sportiest RX500h F Sport Performance trim, which makes 367-hp thanks to a hybrid powertrain.

2023 Lexus RX Design

The changes on the 2023 Lexus RX are minimal. As far as we know, the forthcoming SUV will only get a small revision of the front and rear. The headlight will get a more attractive look thanks to a new graphic, along with some finer details visible on the front grille.

Many believe that Lexus could finally tone down the polarizing spindle-grill, but nothing has been yet officially confirmed.

Cabin Upgrades

Although the last model was offered in both two and three-row configurations, it seems that the new one will only be available with two-row, five-seats, for now. However, the RX’s interior is more modern, and it comes with textured fabrics, rich-looking ambient lighting, and open-pore wood on lower trims.

The RX500h F Sport Performance will boost the look inside thanks to more supportive front seats, black interior trim, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and aluminum pedals. Every RX is offered with a large 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is parked in the middle of the dashboard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard but, unfortunately, features such as navigation, a head-up display are optional.

The 2023 Lexus RX is the SUV that will be offered with a few different powertrains. The entry level model is powered by a 275-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine using an eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is an option.

On the other hand, you can get a hybrid RX350h that combines electric motors with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 246 horsepower, and it comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), as well as all-wheel drive. The more powerful is the RX500h F Sport Performance variant that combines the turbocharged 2.5-liter and electric power. The engine is capable of making 367 horsepower, routing power to all four wheels. If you’re looking for something more economical, there is also a plug-in hybrid model RX450h that delivers 302-hp. The same engine is also available with models Toyota RAV4 Prime and Lexus NX450h.
