2023 Lincoln Aviator Gains Mid-Cycle Facelift

The new 2023 Lincoln Aviator is an SUV that has a stylish exterior, a plush cabin, and very potent powertrains. Just like the larger Navigator, the Aviator offers the same luxury, but it’s more compact. However, it still doesn’t match the athleticism of many rivals, including the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90 model. For 2023, this SUV will reportedly receive some minor upgrades, which should make it more competitive.

As before, we expect all models to come with a proven twin-turbocharged V6 engine, providing great performances. Alongside, the manufacturer will once again offer a plug-in hybrid Grand Touring model, which should provide some extra boost thanks to an electric motor.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Redesign

The exterior design of the 2023 Lincoln Aviator is impressive and eye-catchy, just like the Navigator. Its dimension is unchanged, and it measures 199.3 in length, 82.3 in width, and 69.6 in height.

As a standard appearance, the Aviator comes with chrome upper grille mesh, full LED headlights and various alloy-wheel designs. The new Appearance package is rolling on the new 20-inch alloy wheels, which can be replaced with a bigger 22-inch on upper trims. The new colors that were introduced last year are Bronze Smoke and Gilded Green, while the Grand Touring versions are available with Flight Blue finish.

Interior Features

The 2022 Lincoln Aviator is a three-row SUV that offers room for seven occupants. Its cabin is very spacious, and even adults can sit on the back. Cargo capacity is 18.3 cubic feet behind the third row, which can be increased to 77.7 cubic feet with rows two and three folded. The seats are comfortable, and the base model comes with 10-way power-adjustable front seats.

The 30-way version is only available with Black Label models as well as massaging functions. Lincoln will introduce this time a cleaner dashboard that’s hooked with an updated 10.1-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital driver information display. Other features that are available on the entry-level model include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, Wi-Fi, two USB ports, satellite radio, and a 10-speaker audio system.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Powertrain Specs

Beneath the hood, the 2023 Lincoln Aviator uses a conventional gasoline-fueled setup that consists of a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of producing 400-horsepower with rear-wheel drive as standard. All-wheel drive is still on the options list.

The Grand Touring and Black Label Grand Touring versions are once again powered by a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) drivetrain. There is a twin-turbocharged V6, connected to an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. All-wheel drive is standard with this setup. It’s also worth mentioning that the Aviator plug-in hybrid has a maximum range of 21 miles in electric vehicle (EV) mode.

How Much Can the 2022 Lincoln Aviator Tow?

With the V6 combustion engine, this SUV has a rating of 6,700 pounds. However, if you go for the PHEV model, this SUV will be able to handle an impressive 5,600 pounds.
