The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is an upcoming subcompact SUV that will finally receive some upgrades and changes. This family-friendly small sport vehicle is one of the rarest models in class that offers lots of fun behind the wheel. Credit for that goes to sharp steering and nicely engineered suspension. In case you missed it, this model was for the first time introduced in 2020, and it was an instant hit thanks to its various tech and safety features.

On top of that, it is powered by a few very potent engines. The base model uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine making 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, while the optional turbocharged engine cracks out 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive became standard across the CX-30 range with the last model year. Alongside, we also expect an all-electric version as well.

On the cosmetic side, the 2023 Mazda CX-30 looks similar to the bigger sibling Mazda CX-50. In general, this small SUV features the same exterior design approach with the KODO design language as the rest of the company’s SUV/crossovers. It comes with sleek surfaces and elegant proportions, followed by a stylish 16-inch alloy rims.

Of course, every higher trim has larger wheels and many tier options. The new Carbon Edition, which comes exclusively in Polymetal Gray rides on more stylish 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black to match the gloss black side mirrors.

Modern Interior with Two-Rows of Seats

Despite its small proportions, the buyers of the new 2023 Mazda CX-30 will enjoy plenty of room up front. As far as we know, this subcompact model offers 36.3 inches of rear legroom, which is not bad at all. Although, if you’re seeking more room, the Kia Seltos and Honda HR-V are ideal models to go for.

High-quality materials are all over the cabin, offering very pleasing touches. On top of that, the 8.8-inch infotainment display is a highlight, and it is among the largest in this class. The new Carbon Edition looks more luxurious thanks to leather seating surfaces available in red.
