Reportedly, and according to the motortrend website, the 2023 Mazda CX-7 is in the works. The new SUV should receive some small upgrades and changes. First of all, we can expect a more attractive design outside and inside, and probably the new platform.

From what we heard, this compact SUV should ride on a modified Toyota Global Architecture C-Platform, and it might share a hybrid setup with the Toyota Venza and Toyota RAV4 models. If you didn’t know, this famous SUV was an instant hit a few years back. It`s very compact and much smaller than the CX-9. The expected sale of the new model will happen sometime next year, starting at around $30,000.

2023 Mazda CX-7 Facelift

The latest 2023 Mazda CX-7 will probably use the same design language as the CX-5 and CX-9 models. In general, all of them are looking identical, with a front end that dominates. The most recent reports indicate that the CX-7 will adopt the Toyota New Global Architecture C-Platform.

However, it’s still unclear if it will adopt a similar boxy shape as its predecessor or it will introduce more sharper lines. By the way, the brand’s signature KODO design language will surely be present, but we don’t know how much different it will be compared to the models CX-5 and CX-9.

Interior Changes

The cabin of the 2023 Mazda CX-7 should continue to be clean and modern. In general, we don’t expect some significant changes compared to the outgoing model. Of courses, Mazda will add more quality materials and try to stay competitive in the class.

The layout will probably remain the same, featuring room on the rear for three passengers with a center folding armrest. The seats can be split down, offering access to a huge cargo capacity. As for the standard features, the list should be near CX-9 offerings. So, expect a 10.3-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Besides, the manufacturer could add more driver aids, making this SUV more luring.

2023 Mazda CX-7 Engine Specs

As mentioned, the upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-7 will ride on the new Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, and it might use the same hybrid setup as the Toyota Venza and Toyota RAV4 models. This engine is aspirated with a 2.5-liter inline-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline-powered engine mated to two electric motors.

The Mazda CX-7 should deliver 219 horsepower peak output with gasoline and electricity combined, thanks to this setup. On the other hand, we also expect the all-wheel-drive to be standard. All above should translate to a combined city/highway fuel economy of 39 mpg.
