The all-electric 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV version has been spied testing with a more attractive design than any model so far from this automaker. As far as we know, the forthcoming SUV will ride on the same platform as its sibling EQE mid-size sedan that was introduced in September at the Munich auto show. Production will start at Mercedes’ plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which is where many models are made.

Considering that the SUV shares many components with the sedan variant, expect it to have a similar powertrain setup as well. This means it could feature the same 90-kilowatt-hour battery and a single motor, delivering a total of 288 hp and 391 lb.-ft of torque.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE First Look

The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE looks almost the same as the EQS model, but with further analysis we noticed some subtle differences. Unlike the EQS model, the forthcoming EQE SUV comes with the rear doors and trunk that are smaller. Actually, the front overhang is also shorter, and its hood is much lower.

We also noticed a front fender similar to on the EQS hatchback and EQE sedan. On the back, this SUV also looks sporty thanks to attractive taillights and a trunk that perfectly blends.

Interior Rumors

At this point, there’s no spy shot of the interior, but it should match up with the EQE sedan. This means buyers can expect an elegant cabin with rich materials and lots of standard technology.

The highlight will be the infotainment system, which measures 56 inches long. It consists of three separate screens: a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster screen, a 17.7-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. The system runs on the latest Mercedes’s MBUX software, which has an impressive interface that is easy to use. On top of that, there is for the first time a fingerprint scanner that lets users access individual profiles.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE Specs

The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV variant will come with a similar, maybe the same setup as the sedan model. This means we can count on a 90-kilowatt-hour battery and a single motor at the rear wheels. Overall, the total combined output should be around 288 hp and 391 lb.-ft of torque.

A more powerful setup will be available as well, and it will use an additional motor at the front axle, resulting in all-wheel drive. As for range, with a 107.8-kwh battery, the sedan model has a range of 350 miles, while with the smaller 90 kwh battery, around 250 miles.

Release Date, Price

The forthcoming Mercedes-Benz’s EQE mid-size electric crossover has been spied testing recently for the first time. Unlike its sibling EQS model, the EQE will come with subtle differences.

It shares the same platform with the sedan model and likely the same engine setup. We expect this model to hit showrooms next year with a price of around $100k, which is less than the Mercedes EQS, that starts at $102,310.
