The refreshed 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE is about to arrive next year, featuring some improvements. If you didn’t know, the manufacturer introduced the GLE-Class in 2016 as a replacement for the M-Class. However, in 2020, this SUV was entirely redesigned, giving much more for invested money than some other models in the midsize segment. Since it was redesigned last year, we expect the new variant to be a carryover model.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE is the SUV recognized on the road thanks to its high-end, muscular lines. It features broad fenders, a wide grille, a brawny hood, and relatively small diamond-shaped taillights.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE Exterior Redesign
As mentioned, Mercedes-Benz introduced the GLE-Class as a replacement for the M-Class in 2016. However, last year, this model was fully redesigned, featuring a new look. Competition in the midsize segment is high, but we can rely on Mercedes vehicles for sure. The new GLE is entering the market with the same high-end, muscular lines.
This SUV comes with broad fenders, a wide grille, and a brawny hood. At the back, it features relatively small diamond-shaped taillights, two large exhaust pipes, and much more smooth edges compared to its predecessor. Generally speaking, the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class continues its journey with the same overall design and mild changes on the exterior.
Interior Offers More Technology
Like the previous generation, the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE on the inside is a high-tech marvel. In general, you can go wrong with this model because it offers one of the most stylish cabins in its class. For 2023, the dash looks more modern, featuring square attractive air vents. The GLE is also a comfortable SUV, including very supportive seats.
Stepping in, you’ll first notice a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Mercedes also offers as standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, five USB ports, a wireless smartphone charger, navigation, and satellite radio as standard equipment. Optionally, buyers can get a Burmester audio system that is a game-changer.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE Under the Hood
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE offers five powertrains. The base engine is available with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 255 horsepower. Moreover, the next one is a supercharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a mild-hybrid system, generating 362 hp.
The third option is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine rated at 483 hp. The last two engines are AMG GLE 53, offering a 429-hp version, and the AMG GLE 63 S, with a 603-hp. All engines will use a nine-speed automatic transmission as a solo option. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive comes only optionally.
Release Date and Price
Mercedes hasn’t noted when it will bring the 2023 GLE model to market. However, if we look at some of the earlier releases, we expect an on-sale date to start sometime in the summer of 2021. As for the pricing, it isn’t available either. In general, without any major changes, we anticipate the Mercedes-Benz GLE to remain close to the current model.
The current GLE starts at $56,740 for the base variant, and it can go up to $116,995 for a fully loaded model. When releases, the new midsize luxury SUV will rival models such as the Porsche Cayenne, Genesis GV80, BMW X5, and Audi Q7.
