The sportier 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek has been introduced, and it looks really ready for adventure. Unlike the original version, the Rock Creek features many upgrades, making it more off-roading capable. This model comes with some visual tweaks, featuring lifted suspension, knobby tires, and a few other styling differences inside.
Nissan also says that they make some performance mapping, which should give this edition an extra 11 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque when running on premium fuel. The total output is now 295 hp and 270 pound-feet. In case you didn’t know, other Pathfinder models deliver 284 hp with 3.5-liter V-6 engine.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Design
The 2023 Nissan Rock Creek model looks more adorable than the basics one. This edition comes with a front end that has a different grille and front fascia. Also, we noticed the Rock Creek badges on the front doors and tailgate.
The next visual upgrades over the standard model are 18-inch beadlock-style wheels, which are wrapped in Toyo Open Country All-Terrain tires. For best off-roading, the Rock Creek includes suspension that is lifted 0.6 inch and all-wheel drive is standard equipment. Four two-tone exterior color schemes are available, along with six monotone exterior colors.
First Look Inside
Inside, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek looks modern and spacious. Like the original Pathfinder, the Rock Creek is highlighted by a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with several screen options. On top of that, there is also a 10.8-inch head-up display, which allows the driver to see functions such as vehicle speed and navigational directions on the back of the windshield.
The Rock Creek has leatherette and fabric upholstery with embroidered logos on the seats, along with eye-catchy orange contrasting stitching. As the SL with the Premium package or the top Platinum trim, this model includes second-row captain’s chairs.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Engine Options
As we mentioned, the Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek will deploy the same 3.5-liter V-6 as the base model. However, Nissan reveals that they made some mapping, which means that the mentioned engine now makes an extra 11 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque when running on premium fuel.
The total output is 295 hp and 270 pound-feet. The current original SUV with the same engine without premium fuel makes 284 hp. Both models come with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission, and both can tows up to 6,000 pounds.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Release Date, Price
The new 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek will reportedly go on sale in the U.S. this summer. Besides more attractive design, the forthcoming SUV will differ in many things. If features lifted suspension, knobby tires, and a few extras inside.
Also, it provides more output than the original one, thanks to some mapping and premium fuel. Unfortunately, Nissan didn’t yet release pricing for the Rock Creek, but we reckon it will be somewhere between the AWD SL and Platinum models. This means price of about $40,000 or even more is for certain.
