Porsche has announced that it`s working on the all-electric Macan for 2023. Besides the all-electric model, we can also expect gasoline variants as well. The new 2023 Porsche Macan EV will reportedly be built on a dedicated new EV chassis, while gasoline-powered Macan will continue to ride on the same chassis and powertrains.
We heard that the EV variant would have an 800-volt electrical architecture, like the Taycan sedan. While Porsche hasn’t released many details, we are expecting many upgrades and changes. All Macan models will arrive sometime next year, likely in the second quarter of the year.
2023 Porsche Macan Redesign
The new 2023 Porsche Macan will be definitively facelifted for the following year. In general, the exterior styling of this SUV is one of the many strong suits. As far as we know, front and rear fascias will be revised, and Macan will look very similar to the Cayenne.
The front end will consist of an attractive grille and thinner headlights. On the other hand, the side profile slopes down in the back a bit more, resulting in more cargo space. We also expect to see many modifications on the back like a more robust bumper, new taillights graphics, and an exhaust system. A much larger palette of available paints is expected. The current Macan is available with Miami Blue, Papaya Metallic (an orange), and the GTS comes exclusively with Python Green color.
The 2023 Porsche Macan interior will be much more modern and techy for sure. This SUV has the spirit of a sports car, but it doesn’t forget that it’s a luxury SUV. Actually, the interior is driver-centric, but it’s also quite comfortable for other passengers. However, the back seats are tight for adults but are okay for kids. The cargo space is below average for this class. So, if you’re looking for a lot of room, check out the BMW X3 or the bigger Porsche Cayenne.
On the technology side, the Macan includes a 10.9-inch infotainment system, which is more user-friendly than ever. For 2023, we expect redesigned center console and many new amenities.
2023 Porsche Macan Engine Options
Like before, the 2023 Porsche Macan will be available with three engine choices alongside the EV model. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter inline-4 making 261 horsepower. Thie engine is the most efficient with an EPA city/highway fuel economy (estimated) at 19/23 mpg. However, the Macan S comes with a more powerful twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 turning it up to 375 horsepower. Finally, the most powered Macan GTS uses the same twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 but delivers more output 434 horses.
Porsche Macan EV
The all-electric 2023 Porsche Macan gets an 800-volt electrical architecture like the Taycan. We expect this model to be the quickest in the lineup of Macan’s. In other words, it will be plenty of power, and the EV will cover at least 250 miles of range. It will be definitively competitive with the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Tesla Model Y models.
Release Date, Price
The 2023 Porsche Macan will introduce more improvements than we thought. The new SUV will receive some upgrades and changes that will make it more eye-catchy on the road. We also expect an all-electric variant to be introduced alongside other gasoline-powered models. In addition, these models are based on totally different chassis, and we presume many modifications on the EV model as we saw on the current Taycan that resembles a Panamera.
As we said, all Macan models will likely hit markets in the second quarter of the year. Price is not yet determined, but we presume some slight increase compared to the predecessor.
