The 2023 Toyota bZ4X is an upcoming midsize electric crossover SUV that will go on sale later this year. This model represents a giant step forward thanks to a new design language and probably the best so far cabin. On top of that, the forthcoming SUV will be available as an all-electric model in two trim levels.
The base front-wheel-drive model will provide a driving range of around 250 miles, while a dual-motor setup, which comes with all-wheel-drive around 230 miles. Thanks to that, the Toyota bZ4X ranges more than its electric rivals like the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Kia Niro EV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Volkswagen ID.4.
2023 Toyota bZ4X Exterior
Aesthetically, the forthcoming 2023 Toyota bZ4X will sports a very futuristic design with a blunt front end. Like the Subaru Solterra and upcoming Lexus RZ, the new bZ4X will ride on the same e-TNGA platform. Besides the blunt front end, the new model is also wearing chunky fender flares, slim headlights, and thin LED taillights.
The design of the bZ4X is similar to the Kia EV6, translating crossover wagon look. In general, compared to models that ride on the same platform, the upcoming SUV looks even more similar to the Subaru Solterra.
Modern and Roomy Cabin
From available photos, we can tell that the 2023 Toyota bZ4X will offer a more futuristic design than any other Toyota models. The cabin is spacious, and there is enough room to accommodate five passengers in two rows. The bZ4X dominates with a large central touchscreen and with a digital instrument display that is ahead of the driver. As most of other Toyota models, the new SUV will offer as well as the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless device charging, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hot spot feature.
Safety is great, and the bZ4X comes standard with the automaker’s Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of active driver aids. The package includes an upgraded pre-collision warning, low-light cyclist detection, guardrail detection, and daytime motorcyclist detection.
2023 Toyota bZ4X Specs
Toyota claims that the bZ4X will be available in two trim levels including the base XLE and Limited. The base model will use a front-wheel-drive form, single motor, and it will have a driving range of around 250 miles with 64.0-kWh battery pack. However, the Limited one will use a dual-motor setup providing all-wheel-drive (AWD). This model, according to Toyota, will be in the region of 230 miles.
Compared to other competitors in the same class, the bZ4X is in range with electric rivals like the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Kia Niro EV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Volkswagen ID.4. Toyota also stated the bZ4X will be compatible with the fast-charging tech, and using a 150-kW fast charger, you can charge it 80% in 30 minutes.
2023 Toyota bZ4X Price, Release Date
The forthcoming 2023 Toyota bZ4X will start at $37,000 for the base XLE model. However, if you go for dual-motor setup, which is available in Limited trim, the price will jump to $42,000. There is also news that less expensive LE trim may join the lineup later on.
Anyway, we expect all models to be available for purchase sometime later this year and to go against models like the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Kia Niro EV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Volkswagen ID.4.
