The 2023 Toyota Highlander is one of the most trusted names in the midsize SUV class. This model has a great reputation thanks to its comfortable cabin, safety and reliability. It also provides good fuel economy, and overall practicality.

So, if you are looking for a family hauler, you should consider the Highlander as a great minivan alternative that offers a lot of space, and plenty of comfort. However, we must mention that the Highlander’s third row is a little cramped for adults, but is best for kids. Families looking for a roomier third row model should consider models like the Chevrolet Traverse, Volkswagen Atlas, or Kia Telluride.

2023 Toyota Highlander Exterior

The 2023 Toyota Highlander is an SUV that looks really nice from every angle. It features a very attractive front end with a wider grille, and it includes LED headlights as standard. The size of this model is about the same as the Honda Pilot and Kia Telluride.

In general, the Toyota Highlander is a bit smaller compared to the models like the Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, and Volkswagen Atlas. Moreover, the look of the Highlander will change a bit on the upper trims like the sporty XSE trim. This variant comes with a more aggressive front end, dual-exit exhaust, and with some minor visual tweaks.

More Modern Interior

For 2023, the interior of the Toyota Highlander will gain a few minor tweaks. Still, you can count on a very spacious cabin that can fit seven passengers. In general, you can get even more cargo space when you fold the seats down, around 84.3 cubic feet.

As for the standard equipment, the upcoming Highlander comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, that’s compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and SiriusXM. On top of that, Toyota also includes safety techs like a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane tracing assist. Not only does the interior look nice, it’s very upscale, especially on the upper trims. For example, with the Limited and Platinum trims you’ll get leather seats, a head-up display, JBL premium audio, and more.
