The 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser was fully revealed a few weeks ago, featuring revised chassis, more tech, and the new turbocharged engine. One of the best model in the world is getting some upgrades inside as well, and we can expect more comfort than before.
Known internally as the Land Cruiser 300, the new model will ride on the same TNGA platform as the 200 Series. According to Toyota, the new Land Cruiser is 441 pounds lighter than the outgoing model, which means it’s weighed 5,774 pounds in a five-seat configuration. However, with a seven-seat format, it has 5,874 pounds. Under the hood, a naturally aspirated twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is powering this SUV, and there is also an optional twin-turbo diesel V6.
2023 Toyota Land Cruiser Redesign
In terms of styling, the 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser looks more attractive than before. Thanks to a revised chassis, the upcoming SUV has a more blocky body, and it features a much bigger grille than the previous model. Toyota says features such as the LED headlights and LED taillights will be high as possible to prevent damage.
Interestingly, there will be three different front ends. The first two will feature horizontal grille slats and a more street-friendly look, while the unique black grille and bumper can get choosing the GR Sport trim. We also expect to see a vast number of wheels options as well as tires.
First Look Inside
On the inside, the 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser will be entirely new. It will feature a more modern cabin that should also provide better seating support. As far as we know, Toyota will redesign the cabin, adding a horizontal dash topped with a widescreen infotainment display. Overall, more equipment will be available on upper trims, as well as plenty of amenities.
Toyota will also update the Land Cruiser’s safety tech with its Toyota Safety Sense suite of technology. So, we can expect lane-keep assistance, automatic brake to avoid collisions with vehicles, and much more.
2023 Toyota Land Cruiser Engine Specs
Reportedly, the new 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser will be available with two engine options. The V8 is no longer on the offer and is replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. This engine can produce 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, which is an improvement of 28 hp and 78 lb-ft.
The Land Cruiser is also available with diesel engines as well, and it should use a 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V-6 with 304 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, both engines will come with a 10-speed automatic transmission and with full-time four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case.
Release Date, Price
Considering that the Covid-19 pandemic is not yet over, the new 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser has no exact release date. Anyway, many believe that this might SUV will arrive sometime next year as the 2023 model. Price is not yet available, but expect more information on the next generation later this year.
