The new 2023 Volvo XC60 will hit the market later this year with some small upgrades. The upcoming model will look more stylish, and you can also count on more comfort inside as well. As you probably know, recent updates included a new range of hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines, and refreshed exterior design.

Depending on the chosen trim, you can get a model that produces up to 415 horsepower. Thanks to that, the Volvo XC60 competes against a strong lineup of luxury-badged crossover/SUV rivals, like the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, BMW X3, Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, and Acura RDX.

The exterior of the 2023 Volvo XC60 will get a facelift. As far as we can see, the upgrades are mostly visible on the front and rear, making this SUV more adorable. The design language is attractive, and the new XC60 shares many cues with the other XC models. It features a grille design that has been updated and famous Thor’s hummer headlights.

As for size, it’s unchanged, and the XC60 is about the same size as the models BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. The appearance of this SUV changes a bit if you go for the R-Design trim. Actually, you’ll get a sportier look thanks to black accents, more chrome, and attractive wheels.

Like the outgoing model, the 2023 Volvo XC60 comes in front-wheel-drive (FWD), and it uses as standard a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder 48V mild-hybrid engine. The engine serves up 247 horsepower. One step higher, you can get a B6 model with the same engine, but it adds an electric supercharger. Thanks to that, it nudges output of 295 horsepower.

At the top of the offer is a XC60 Recharge that comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder and two electric motors. Depending on the trim level, this potent system can produce 400 up to 415 horsepower. Volvo claims that Recharge can travel around 18 miles on electric-only driving range, which is more than enough.

2023 Volvo XC60 Price, Release Date

We expect the 2023 Volvo XC60 to have a starting price of about $43,000 for the B5 front-wheel-drive model. Moving to the B6 mild-hybrid engine, you must pay $55,000 for the R-Design trim. Sitting at the top is a XC60 Polestar Engineered model that is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

This model costs $70,000 when it is fully loaded. The sales of the new Volvo XC60 will begin later in 2022, and this model will continue to rival luxury SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, BMW X3, Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, and Acura RDX.
