These days, we are getting a lot of reports about Acura’s upcoming all-electric models, while conventional vehicles like the 2024 Acura RDX get a little bit overshadowed. However, that doesn’t mean that Honda’s luxury division doesn’t take care of one of its most popular models. It received a facelift last year and it is expected that the current generation will remain in production for another few years. That’s why most experts don’t expect bigger changes for the next year, even though there are rumors about the high-performance Type S version.

In any case, the overall layout won’t change much. We expect to see a familiar design, which has so many great things to offer. The RDX might not have the most intuitive infotainment system around but on the other hand, we like its refined powertrain, smooth ride and engaging handling. Furthermore, the interior looks pretty nice, even when compared to more expensive competitors.

The current generation of RDX has been around since 2019 and it should remain in production for a few more years. Considering the 2022 facelift, we presume that the 2024 Acura RDX won’t feature too many changes. It will offer the same design, as well as the same chassis setup. The RDX rides nice and looks pretty attractive, so we have no doubt that the sales numbers will remain at the same level.

On the other hand, some sources speculate about the performance version of the SUV, which would come with the famous “Type S” badge. At this point, the officials are still quiet but if the Japanese manufacturer is planning such a version, we expect to see all kinds of upgrades. Of course, this refers to things like new suspension, standard all-wheel drive, bigger brakes etc. Furthermore, we also count on a couple of styling details that will accentuate the model’s performance nature.

Interior

On the inside, the 2024 Acura RDX will continue to deliver a combination of nice aesthetics and good build quality. The materials are really nice, while the presence of numerous physical controls makes the dashboard look very attractive to those more conservative drivers. More importantly, the overall build quality is pretty impressive, while the ergonomics are great. Also, the company improved sound insulation notably with the recent refresh.

Although a compact crossover, the RDX offers a decent amount of passenger space. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the second row is also very spacious and comfortable, and accommodates adults with ease. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 29.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats upright and 58.9 cubic feet with the second row folded down. Those are pretty good ratings for the class.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible but the 2024 Acura RDX will probably remain largely the same in this aspect. The current model is already pretty generous with standard equipment and comes with goodies like a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker stereo, multiple USB ports, satellite radio, HD Radio, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror etc.

So, we presume that the additions could come from the current list of options. Among potential candidates for the standard equipment, we should mention goodies like wireless charging, navigation, ELS Studio audio system, GPS-linked climate control, multicolor ambient interior lighting and remote start.

When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams and more.

2024 Acura RDX Engines

The current model comes with a turbocharged version of the well-known 2.0-liter inline-four engine, with a max output of 272 horsepower. The engine comes coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and makes the RDX faster compared to entry-level versions of models like the Audi Q5 or BMW X3. However, the problem with the RDX is that there is no upgrade, as all variants come with this unit.

That’s why there are so many rumors about the Type S version. Allegedly, this version would come with an upgraded version of the legendary K20 engine that uses a turbocharger these days. We estimate that the max output could go up to 330 horsepower, while the company’s well-known SH-AWD system would be standard. This advanced torque-vectoring system allows 70% of power to be sent to the rear wheels, where 100% of that power could be applied to each wheel.

2024 Acura RDX Release Date and Price

We presume that the 2024 Acura RDX is about to hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023, with a starting price of around 44.000 dollars.
