2024 BMW X5 LCI M Performance: Redesign, Specs, and release Date

BMW’s popular mid-size luxury SUV has just received a facelift. Known under the G05 designation, it now gets the additional LCI moniker. So far, the Bavarian carmaker introduced several variants of the refreshed SUV, but we are still waiting for the high-performance, M-badged model. That version is expected to arrive by the end of this year, as the 2024 BMW X5 LCI M. Of course, we count on excellent performance, along with other qualities typical for this nameplate.

So, what we expect to see is a refreshed X5 M, which will benefit from all the updates that were introduced with the recent redesign. There is the new styling, along with the new interior, new tech features and more. Of course, there is the matter of the powertrain and if we can trust the latest reports, we could see some slight power increase.

We expect that the 2024 BMW X5 LCI M will hit the market sometime in the third quarter of the year.

2024 BMW X5 LCI M Design

So, the 2024 BMW X5 LCI M will come with a refreshed design. The first thing you’ll notice is a refreshed styling, which will bring the same novelties as the rest of the X5 lineup, with the new grille, headlights, new color options etc. Of course, there is also a typical M treatment, which brings upgraded bumpers, exclusive wheels and many more.

Of course, this model is also pretty exclusive in terms of mechanics. The suspension setup gets upgraded and offers better handling, while there are also upgraded, bigger brakes. The chassis has been reinforced as well, so we don’t expect to see significant changes in this aspect. On the other hand, we might see a few more exclusive tech features, such as unique color options.

The same thing is with the things on the inside. The 2024 BMW X5 LCI M will benefit from the recent refresh and bring a notably more attractive cabin design. The dashboard has been updated with a few interesting things, particularly with the new set of massive screens, which are bigger and offer better graphics than before.

Of course, a model with the M badge deserves special treatment, so we expect to see a number of exclusive features, such as exclusive materials like aluminum and carbon fiber, upgraded steering wheels and seats, etc.

On the other hand, the seating configuration will bring no surprises. Count on two pretty spacious and comfortable rows of seats, which accommodate adults with ease. The cargo area currently offers around 33.7 cubic feet of room behind the second row and 72.3 cubic feet of the total cargo volume and we don’t expect to see bigger changes in this aspect for the next year.

This update will also bring novelties in terms of tech, safety and convenience features. We already mentioned the new infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, but the list of novelties should be much longer. Furthermore, we expect to see familiar features that are exclusive to this version. Some of them are Alcantara and leather upholstery, heated front armrests, heated steering wheel, quad-zone climate control, head-up display, surround-view camera etc.

The list of standard equipment will also include goodies like upgraded exhaust, adaptive suspension, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a long list of safety and driver-assistance features. Some of them are a rearview camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive headlights, automatic high beams etc.

2024 BMW X5 LCI M Specs

When it comes to the 2024 BMW X5 LCI M specs, we will see a familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. However, this facelift will bring a power upgrade. So, instead of the current 600 horsepower, the max output will go up to 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

These power figures promise the excellent performance of the engine that comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which comes in a combination with an all-wheel-drive system. The pre-facelift version was able to hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, while this model could improve a little bit. When it comes to fuel economy, we count on similar ratings to the pre-facelifted model, which would mean around 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

On the other hand, we know that the starting price will go around 123.300 dollars. The competition will remain the same, so the key rivals will be models like Audi RS Q8, Porsche Cayenne Turbo etc.
