Even though Chevy revived the Blazer in the form of a crossover in 2019, most car enthusiasts associate this nameplate with a genuine off-roader. So, we are afraid they could be disappointed once again, as another Blazer is coming, this time in the all-electric form. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is on its way to hit the market this summer and we already know some of the base design characteristics, whether it’s about aesthetics or mechanics. The technical aspect is particularly interesting, as the company announced four versions, with different power figures, range, etc.

The new Blazer EV will be an all-electric crossover and we already saw its styling, which resembles the gasoline version in a pretty decent portion. However, it won’t have many things in common, especially when it comes to the powertrain, which will come in four different setups. Not only that we will see different outputs, but the new vehicle will be highly configurable, offering either FWD, RWD or AWD setups, which is something that’s hard to imagine with internal-combustion cars.

In any case, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will be offered in four trim levels – 1LT, 2LT, RS and SS. The 2LT and RS will arrive first, already this summer.

When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV won’t have many things in common with the previous models with this badge. It will be built on a different platform, based on GM’s new Ultium battery technology, which will provide some pretty impressive performances regarding electric motors, battery technology etc.

Chevy already presented the new model and its styling and we can clearly see that some inspiration has been taken from the Blazer crossover, which has been in production since 2019. However, there are also significant upgrades at the front, where you can clearly see that parts like headlights or bumper accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.

Another thing that can easily be noticed is the size. This model features a significantly longer wheelbase than the gasoline-powered Blazer, with 121.8 compared to 112.7 inches between the axles. Without any doubt, this will be highly beneficial in terms of passenger space.

2024 Chevy Blazer EV Drivetrain, Battery, Performance

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will be based on GM’s advanced Ultium technology, the same that’s already used for the new Cadillac Lyriq. Most sources suggest the same battery as in the Caddy’s crossover, though the officials haven’t offered the exact numbers yet. On the other hand, they came up with the range estimates for each trim level.

As the most affordable variant, the 1LT will feature the shortest range, which should go up to 247 miles. The 2LT, as well as the range-topping SS, should be good for about 290, while the RS should be able to make around 320 miles on a single charge. The new crossover will feature 190kW charging speed, which means that a proper DC charger should be able to add 78 miles of range in about 10 minutes.

When it comes to power figures, the officials have been quiet so far, mostly. At this point, we only know that the range-topping 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS will feature a dual-motor setup with a max output of around 557 horsepower, which should be enough to ensure 0-60 sprint in less than 4 seconds. On the other hand, the base 1LT will feature a single, front-mounted electric motor, probably with around 300 horsepower. The 2LT will be more powerful and it will offer both FWD and AWD configurations.

The RS trim is by far the most interesting because it will allow buyers to choose between front- and rear-wheel drive, while the AWD system will be optional.

Interior

The inside of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will be a significant upgrade over the current gasoline version. From what we can see, the new dashboard looks more upscale for a few reasons. The first one is certainly the presence of numerous tech features, particularly in terms of massive screens. There is a huge 17-inch infotainment screen, along with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, while we also like a few touches borrowed from the gasoline version, such as those recognizable round air vents.

Given the much longer wheelbase, we may presume that the all-electric Blazer will be more spacious than its gasoline counterpart. We don’t know the exact amount of space, but we have no doubt that the new model will offer plenty of room in both rows of seats and accommodate five adults with ease.

The base price will go around 45.000 dollars, while the range-topping SS will feature a starting price of around $66.000.
