There have been a number of speculations and theories floating around surrounding the next model of the 2024 Dodge Durango. In point of fact, the outlook for the future of this SUV is not particularly encouraging, which is regrettable. As far as we know, the 2024-year model will be the last one to be produced, and the manufacturer will most likely discontinue production.
Anyway, from what we know, the next model will ride on a new platform, shared with the Jeep Wagoneer. Up until this point, the Durango has shared its underpinnings with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, as before, we expect the new SUV to continue its rivalry with models such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Ford Expedition.
Will the new 2024 Dodge Durango Be Redesigned?
It currently seems like the Durango will continue to be produced beyond the 2023 model year, and there is a possibility that the SUV may undergo a makeover for the 2024 model year. Due to the fact that it could ride on a new platform, there are some rumors about its design changes. The highlight of this SUV is its imposing appearance, which can be customized.
We highly recommend at the very least the R/T and SRT 392 variants.
Both mentioned models have a distinctly sporty look and very eye catchy front. On the other side, you have the option of selecting the Citadel trim, which features chrome accents and it has more upscale appearance. It’s also noteworthy, that dimensions of this SUV are comparable to those of the Volkswagen Atlas, the Mazda CX-9, and the Ford Explorer.
Interior Features
The next full-size three-row 2024 Dodge Durango will offer a roomy interior and high-end features. The interior is made of high-quality materials, and luxury can be changed a little bit depending on the trims.
For example, the screen sizes of the entry-level SXT model and the middle-range GT model are both 8.4 inches, while 10.1-inch screen, on the other hand, is an option for the GT model but standard equipment for the Citadel and R/T versions. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are basic features, but powerful sound system and a rear-seat entertainment can be bought separately.
2024 Dodge Durango Engine Specs
We do not yet have any information regarding the engine of the forthcoming 2024 Dodge Durango. On the one hand, a lot of people expect that it will get some new engines, but on the other side, a lot of people think that the engine lineup could remain the same.
Up until this point, the Dodge Durango has been offered with a potent V8 engine that delivers 360 horsepower. This SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds when it is powered by the aforementioned engine. The entry-level engine, which generates 295 horsepower, can also tow the same amount. Anyway, both engines are mated to an automatic transmission with eight gears. The transmission may either supply power to the front wheels or to all of the wheels simultaneously.
2024 Dodge Durango Price, Release Date
Unfortunately, the company did not disclose any details on the pricing or the release date of the 2024 Dodge Durango. According to what we’ve been informed, the new model will likely be more expensive than the one before it.
The base SXT cost $39,355, while the GT starts at $41,000, GT Plus at $46,000, and R/T at $52,000. The Citadel is $53,550, Orange Sport is $54,000, and the most expensive is R/T Plus at $56,755. It is possible that the new model may be released in the third quarter of the following year. When compared to other competitors, the Dodge Durango is on par with the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Ford Expedition in terms of its capabilities.
