2024 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Concept

Despite that the current generation of Hyundai’s compact crossover was introduced last year and still feels pretty fresh, it looks like the Korean manufacturer is already working on some updates. Allegedly, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson is about to receive a facelift. This would be a typical mid-cycle refresh, with visual updates in mind, though we wouldn’t exclude seeing novelties in some other aspects as well, such as interior changes or even some upgrades under the hood.

In any case, the overall layout won’t change much. So, you may count on the familiar pros and cons this SUV delivers. Among the things we really like are its premium cabin, good sound insulation and lots of standard and available equipment. The cabin is also very spacious, with a generous cargo area, while all powertrain options are quite efficient.

Considering the probable update, we presume that the 2024 Hyundai Tucson will arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of 2023.

Despite that the current generation still feels pretty fresh, it looks like novelties are coming. Allegedly, the Korean carmaker prepares updates for the 2024 model year. We presume that most of them will be in terms of aesthetics. More precisely, we expect to see a typical facelift, with main modifications at the front. Some rendering photos already appeared and they show an upgraded take on the familiar grille and headlights, with a bolder and more aggressive appearance. The front bumper follows the same philosophy as well.

Of course, we also count on a few tweaks to the rear end, as well as on typical mid-cycle updates, such as new wheels and color opitons. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle shouldn’t change, so we expect to see familiar road manners.

If you look at the current cabin, it looks really premium. The materials are very nice, as well as the build quality. However, there are still a few things that could improve. This particularly refers to the center stack and center console, where some controls could be organized better. For example, we would like to see classic volume knobs instead of current buttons.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout definitely won’t change. The Tucson offers nice front seats and a lot of space in the first row. Thanks to the long wheelbase, the second row is also very generous with space and accommodates three adults pretty easily.

The cargo area is also one of Tucson’s strong points. You may count on about 38.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 74.8 cubic feet of the total volume. Those are among the highest ratings in the class and have more space than you get from models like Toyota RAV4, for example.

Mid-cycle refreshes usually bring upgrades in terms of standard and available equipment. So, the next year’s Tucson shouldn’t be an exception. We expect that the trim level organization will remain the same but that each version will come with a few upgrades. For reference, the current base model comes standard with things like an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and remote keyless entry.

Among features that could become part of the standard equipment are current options like a 10.2-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, satellite radio, an eight-speaker stereo, two additional USB ports, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a digital key app, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof

The same thing is with safety features, though we have to say that the current model is already packed with loads of standard safety features. Some of the highlights are goodies like a rearview camera, driver-attention monitoring, rear-seat alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise controls etc.

2024 Hyundai Tucson Engines

We expect that the base 2024 Hyundai Tucson will continue with a familiar 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 187 horsepower. This engine offers decent performance, along with good fuel economy, which goes around 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

Also, there are two hybrid versions. The self-charging hybrid features a setup with a combined output of 226 horsepower and returns around 36mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid is more powerful, with 261 horsepower, but also thirstier. However, it also offers 33 miles of all-electric range.

Some sources also speculate about the high-performance Tucson N. That model would come with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine and a max output of 281 horsepower.

2024 Hyundai Tucson Release Date and Price

We expect that the updated 2024 Hyundai Tucson will arrive sometime in the second half of the next year. The starting price shouldn’t change much compared to the current model, which is available at around 27.500 dollars.
