Although the current generation of the famous SUV looks like it has just arrived, it will soon enter the third production year, with the 2024 model. Although the new generation brought significant improvements, some things are still missing, at least if you ask an average enthusiast. Namely, the current generation is still missing a high-performance version and that could change soon, according to the rumors. It looks like the company is preparing such a version and most reports suggest that this trim could carry a well-known moniker and hit the market as the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. So far, the officials have been quiet on this matter.
If this rumor turns out to be true, we have no doubt there will be a full load of upgrades over standard versions. Of course, one of the first things that come to mind is the engine. If we consider the current situation in the company, as well as in the automotive market, it looks like the monstrous supercharged V8 could be replaced. With the old engine or not, we have no doubt this version will offer a lot of power, along with other upgrades that characterized the previous SUV with this moniker.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Engine
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been rumored for the next year and one of the most intriguing aspects is the engine. The previous iteration was powered by the mighty 6.2-liter supercharged V8, with a max output of 707 horsepower. So, it would seem logical to see this engine again.
Unfortunately, that won’t happen. The famous engine will soon be discontinued, so we are eager to see a replacement. The most logical option would be the company’s new inline-six engine, codenamed Hurricane. So far, this engine has been introduced in two variants. The more powerful delivers around 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. That’s still way below expectations, so the logical solution would be to see a more powerful version of this engine. Some sources speculate about a plug-in hybrid powertrain, based on this engine. With a proper setup, we have no doubt that this powertrain would be able to match V8’s power, or maybe offer even more.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Design
Of course, the engine wouldn’t be the only upgrade we would see in the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. This trim would include all kinds of other upgrades, starting from the sporty suspension setup, bigger brakes and limited-slip differential. Furthermore, we expect to see some chassis reinforcements as well, while exclusive aesthetics also seem like a certain thing.
Speaking of the exclusive styling details, we presume Jeep designers would tweak parts like the grille, bumpers and similar things, all in order to accentuate the model’s high-performance character. Exclusive color options are also expected, along with exclusive badging and similar things.
As for the interior design, we presume there would be a full load of unique aesthetical solutions and features. Naturally, some of the first things that come to mind is a unique color scheme. We also count on upgraded seats, with some stitching etc. A unique steering wheel is also possible, while we also count on a long list of standard equipment.
At the same time, the overall layout will remain familiar, with the same overall cabin layout and same design. This mid-size SUV is well-known for its spacious and very comfortable cabin. So, the new performance version shouldn’t be any different. The same thing is expected in terms of the cargo area.
Of course, keep in mind that this will be the most expensive model in the lineup. Therefore, we expect that the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will come with a very long list of standard equipment. In terms of tech features, we presume that the list of standard equipment would include goodies like a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless charging, premium audio system, satellite and HD radio etc.
Naturally, a long list of safety features is also expected. We presume that the list of standard equipment would include things like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition and many more.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Release Date and Price
The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is just a rumor. For now, we can’t say for sure if the company is about to revive this trim or not. If that happens, we presume that the starting price would be higher compared to the previous iteration. The previous model featured a sticker price that was just a little bit under 90.000 dollars. With that said, it’s quite possible the see the new model with six figures, especially if the company plans to offer it with some pretty advanced plug-in hybrid system.
