The current generation of the legendary off-roader has been around for a while and the 2024 Jeep Wrangler will represent the sixth production year. Although the current model is still great in so many aspects, and its classic design looks better than ever, the competition is getting better. The revived Bronco is getting more and more popular, while the next-generation 4Runner is expected in the near future. So, it’s no wonder that some sources suggest that the next year’s Wrangler could get updates.

At this point, the officials are still quiet, but some sources speculate about a facelift. In such a scenario, we would see some design changes, particularly in terms of styling. On the other hand, the overall layout would remain the same but new details would come. Also, this update would probably bring some interior changes, including new tech features. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect, including the engines, would probably remain the same.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Facelift

So, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler redesign wouldn’t happen, but rather a major mid-cycle update. As we’ve just mentioned, most of the changes will come in terms of aesthetics. We would see a slightly updated styling, probably with a new grille. Still, that grille would represent an evolution of the current design, with seven slots that are now a little bit shorter and give the SUV a little bit wider stance. Along with the new grille, we would expect to see new headlamps, along with some minimal bumper tweaks and similar things.

All in all, the overall layout would remain the same. Once again, the Wrangler would come in two familiar body styles, either as a 2-door or 4-door SUV, with various accessories on offer, including removable door panels, roof etc. Of course, off-road versions will carry on as well, including the highly-capable Rubicon trim.

Interior and Accessories

At this point, details about the interior are still unavailable but won’t be surprised if we see some updates. We don’t believe that the dashboard design could change drastically. On the other hand, we could see minor tweaks like new color schemes or materials. Some sources also speculate about new tech features and that would also have an impact on the overall cabin design.

On the other hand, the base cabin layout will remain the same, so there are two familiar layouts. The two-door model called Sport comes with a pretty short wheelbase and doesn’t offer plenty of second-row passengers. The cargo are is also quite limited and offers just 12.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 31.7 cubic feet. Things are much better with the four-door Unlimited, which offers way more passenger space and a pretty generous cargo area with 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet in total.

We already mentioned that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler could come with some new tech features. Some sources speculate about a new infotainment screen, which would be bigger than the current 7- and 8.4-inch units. Along with the bigger screen, we could see new connectivity features, including wireless smartphone integration.

Optional Features

Still, the overall trim level organization shouldn’t change drastically, so base models will carry on with a relatively modest amount of standard equipment, which puts focus on essentials. Higher trim levels would gradually add more and more tech and convenience features, whereas the highest trim levels would offer goodies like automatic climate control, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, satellite radio and a nine-speaker stereo.

The same thing is with safety features, where the current model comes standard only with a rearview camera. We presume some of the current options could become standards. The list of potential candidates includes goodies like rear parking sensors, forward-facing cameras, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Specs, 4xe Hybrid

The engine lineup will remain the same, with several interesting options on offer. Base models will continue with a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, which is the only engine in the lineup that, besides an 8-speed automatic, also comes with a  6-speed manual on offer.

The first upgrade comes in the form of a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Of course, there is the good-old 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, with 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and pretty impressive fuel economy.

Also, there is the new 4xe model with a plug-in hybrid setup, which offers a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is the Rubicon 392, equipped with a 470-hp 6.4-liter HEMI V8.
