In 2019, the Korean manufacturer shocked the automotive world with the Telluride, which instantly became one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in North America, thanks to its impressive balance between quality and attractive price. Now, 2023 receives a mid-cycle update and becomes even better. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the current generation has a few more good years before it receives a full redesign. The 2024 Kia Telluride should be a typical carryover model, with minimal changes and the same overall design.

All in all, you may count on a familiar SUV, which has a lot of great things to offer. Overall, Telluride is highly praised for its value for money. We like it because of the spacious and upscale cabin, good ride quality, composed handling, long list of standard equipment, intuitive infotainment system etc.

Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Kia Telluride will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Kia Telluride Redesign

After the recent mid-cycle refresh that came with the 2023 model, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Kia Telluride will carry on in the same way. We expect to see a familiar design, which was updated with a couple of pretty interesting styling details. The most prominent are new headlights, along with a new grille design and a more aggressive front bumper. A couple of changes came to the rear end as well.

The same thing is with the chassis and suspension setup, which offer composed handling and a fairly comfortable ride. Also, there are the new, off-road-oriented versions, X-Line and X-Pro. The X-Line offers extra features like standard all-wheel drive, upgraded suspension with raised ground clearance, higher roof rails, all-season tires, upgraded traction control and a unique grille design. The X-Pro includes all that and also adds all-terrain tires, further suspension tuning, increased towing capacity to 5.500 pounds and a 110-volt power outlet in the cargo area.

Interior

The recent refresh also brought interior updates, particularly on the dashboard. There is a new panel that incorporates a 12.3-inch instrument and infotainment screen, in a similar fashion to the latest BMW and Mercedes-Benz models. There were a few more interior tweaks, so there is no doubt that the 2024 Kia Telluride will carry on in the same way. The cabin looks very elegant and utilizes nice materials, so it’s no wonder that the Telluride is considered one of the class leaders in this aspect.

Besides pretty impressive quality, this cabin also offers plenty of space. The front seats are well-shaped and offer good side support, while good adjustability allows drivers of different sizes to find their perfect driving position with ease. The second row is also very spacious and comfortable and accommodates three adults with ease. Finally, there is the third row that’s a little bit tighter but still quite functional.

The cargo area offers around 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 46 cubic feet with these seats folded and 87 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. That’s above average for a mid-size SUV.

We might see a couple of novelties in this aspect in the next year but there is no doubt that most things are about to remain the same as in the current model. For reference, the current model comes standard with a 12.3-inch touch screen, digital gauges, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, five USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start and remote start.

Among upgrades, you can currently find a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless device charging, a 10-speaker stereo, an additional USB port, two 120-volt outlets, a rear-seat entertainment system, a digital keycard, a sunroof and ambient lighting.

2024 Kia Telluride Specifications

The 2024 Kia Telluride will continue with a single powertrain option on offer. We are talking about a familiar 3.8-liter V6 that puts out around 291 horsepower and offers pretty good overall performance. It comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty decent job. Base models feature front-wheel drive, while an AWD system is available.

When it comes to fuel economy, FWD models return around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is typical for the segment. Models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstirer and return around 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Most versions can tow up to 5.000 pounds, while the X-Pro can tow 500 pounds more.
