The legendary mid-size luxury SUV has just been redesigned for the 2023 model. Considering the sales numbers in the last 25 years, it was expected to see an evolution of a familiar design, which was the exact thing the Japanese manufacturer did with the recent overhaul. However, we also saw some pretty significant novelties that brought big improvements in different aspects and for that reason, we don’t believe that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 could bring more important updates. Instead, we expect to see a familiar design with minor updates only.

These minor updates may refer to things like new color options or new appearance packages. On the other hand, the overall layout is about to remain unchanged. We expect to see a crossover that offers a smooth and comfortable ride. Its engine offers decent performance but also provides pretty impressive fuel economy. Of course, there is excellent build quality, along with a long list of standard equipment, especially when it comes to safety features.

We believe that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Lexus RX 350 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Lexus RX 350 could receive a few minor updates, such as a new appearance package or new color options. On the other hand, we have no doubt that the overall design is about to remain the same. The recent redesign brought a completely new design, based on the TNGA platform. As a result, the driving experience is even better. The suspension setup is on the soft side and offers excellent absorption of road imperfection. The ride is very smooth and comfortable but, at the same time, you won’t notice too much body lean. Also, there is the F-Sport Handling package, with stiffer suspension and other upgrades, which offers a little bit firmer ride but more precise handling.

In terms of aesthetics, the recent redesign brought a new, more elegant appearance, with a little bit milder lines than before. The new model looks mature and we don’t expect to see changes in the following years.

Interior

The same thing is with interior design. Some minor tweaks are possible but the overall layout will remain the same. This SUV offers a nice cabin layout, with a lot of elegance. It may not as flashy and may not feature as fancy materials, but the build quality and attention to detail is way superior compared to German rivals. Also, there is a pretty generous offer of standard and available equipment.

In terms of space, the new generation is strictly a five-seater. Both rows are generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Moreover, the front seats are among the best in the class, with excellent comfort and support. However, we don’t like the cargo area, because it is really small. You may count on about 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet, which is subpar for a mid-size SUV.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible but most things should remain unchanged. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like a 9.8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, six USB ports and a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, keyless entry, push-button start, multi-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting.

Among options, you can find goodies like, a 14-inch touch screen, navigation, the Hey Lexus virtual assistant, a 21-speaker stereo, wireless device charging, a moonroof and a digital key app.

2024 Lexus RX 350 Engine

The recent redesign brought significant change under the hood, so there is no doubt that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will carry on in the same way. The old V6 was replaced with the new 2.4-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers decent performance. For example, AWD models need 7.2 seconds to hit 60 mph, which is pretty decent for the class. The FWD model is 0.3 seconds slower.

At the same time, fuel economy is pretty good. The base FWD model returns around 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The AWD model drops by 1mpg but that’s still excellent for a mid-size luxury crossover. On the other hand, the RX 350 can tow no more than 3.500 pounds, which is below average for the segment.
