It’s been three years since Corsair replaced the good-old MKC as a part of the brand’s new naming policy. Meanwhile, this compact luxury crossover established itself as one of the most important models in the brand’s lineup and that’s why we already saw a facelift for the 2023 model year. That update brought not just new styling, but interior changes as well. All that clearly indicates that the next year’s model is likely to be a carryover model. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see the 2024 Lincoln Corsair with a couple of minor updates, especially when it comes to standard and available equipment.
All in all, the overall layout won’t change and we will see familiar pros and cons. There are several things to like about this compact crossover. We like the elegant interior design and a lot of standard equipment. The infotainment system is very intuitive, and the ride quality feels good enough to be considered premium.
2024 Lincoln Corsair Redesign
So, what we expect to see is a model with all the novelties that were introduced in the 2023 model year. That refresh brought a lot of novelties, starting from the new front-end design. There is a new, more prominent grille, while the front end looks more attractive than before. Moreover, the range-topping models now come with exclusive exterior trim. All in all, we presume that new color options are the best we could get from the upcoming model.
As for the mechanics, things are pretty simple here. The Corsair shares DNA with Ford Escape, riding on a familiar C2 platform. For that reason, the ride quality seems quite engaging, even though the suspension hasn’t been modified radically. However, although good, the ride quality is still far from the German competition in terms of athleticism and overall refinement.
2024 Lincoln Corsair Interior Changes
What we really like about this crossover is that, even though there are models with better interior quality, Lincoln designers still managed to create a super-elegant environment. There aren’t many rivals that look so stylish from the inside, thanks to the very clean dashboard design, full of horizontal lines. The recent update brought new color schemes, while there are also new tech features, including a massive infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. The 2024 Lincoln Corsair will continue in the same way, which is certainly a good thing.
This isn’t the largest model in the class and therefore, the amount of passenger space is rather typical for the class. Once again, that’s not a bad thing at all, considering that both rows accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats offer good side support, while the driving position is very good.
The cargo area offers around 27 cubic feet behind the second row and around 57 cubic feet of the total volume. We could say that’s is about average for the class.
No bigger changes should happen in this aspect. Therefore, base models will come standard with goodies like simulated leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a power liftgate, a massive 13.2-inch infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a 10-speaker audio system, remote start and many more.
Base models should also come with the generous offer of standard safety features. Some of the highlights are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic braking and more.
Higher trim levels would bring several upgrades, such as interior ambient lighting, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof. The list of available features also includes goodies like a premium 14-speaker audio system, navigation, Sirius XM radio with real-time traffic and weather updates and many more.
2024 Lincoln CorsairPHEV and Other Configurations
This is one of the aspects we can say for sure won’t bring any changes. The optional 2.3-liter turbo-four has been dropped from the offer. So, the base 2.0-liter turbo-four remains the only gasoline engine on offer. That unit puts out around 250 horsepower and offers pretty good driving dynamics.
If you’re looking for a good mix of performance and efficiency, there is also a plug-in hybrid version. It comes with a system that combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four engine and two electric motors. The whole system is rated at 266 horsepower. Also, it offers decent fuel economy that goes around 34 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Also, this version includes a decent 14.4-kWh battery pack, which ensures up to 28 miles of the all-electric range. Unlike the base turbo-four that comes with a classic automatic transmission, the PHEV uses a CVT gearbox.
2024 Lincoln Corsair Release Date and Price
AS there are no significant changes to come, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Lincoln Corsair will hit the market sometime late in the year. The starting price should go slightly under 40.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Cadillac XT5, Acura RDX, Audi Q5 etc.
