The current generation of the sporty SUV has been around for about five years and from what we can see, the management doesn’t plan to replace it with the new model in the next few years. Moreover, German engineers work on a massive update, which should occur sometime in the next year. Some even call it the 2024 Porsche Cayenne Redesign, but the fact is that this will be a massive facelift, where we are about to see updates in various aspects.

Of course, the focus will be on aesthetics, where we expect to see a lot of new styling details, which will make this SUV even more appealing. Furthermore, there is a big chance to see interior updates, things like a new dashboard etc. Finally, powertrain upgrades are always possible. Namely, some of the engines could get a notable power boost. At this point, we are still waiting for the officials to learn more about the upcoming changes.

As we’ve just mentioned, this update will be significant, so some sources even call it a 2024 Porsche Cayenne redesign. The reason is the exterior design, which should be notably redesigned, with a completely new front end. If you look at the renderings, you can notice completely new headlights, along with a new grille, new bumper and many other changes.

Just like the current model, the new one will come in two variants, either as a classic SUV or as a coupe. We don’t expect significant mechanical changes, though fine tunings are always possible. The current model already offers impressive ride quality, which makes this large SUV handle like a sports car. The expectations are the same from the updated model, though certain versions might come with some improvements regarding comfort as well.

Interior

So far, we haven’t managed to catch any interior spy shots of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne interior, but if we can trust rumors, changes are coming in this aspect as well. Allegedly, we are about to see a new dashboard design, with new aesthetics, new materials, and new tech features. The center console could also be redesigned and new controls, shifter etc.

Still, the overall cabin layout will remain the same and, therefore, you may expect the same seating configuration and level of comfort. Both SUV and coupe come with two spacious rows of seats, which offer a high level of comfort. The coupe compromises rear-seat headroom slightly, but that’s minor. The bigger compromise comes in terms of the cargo area, which is notably smaller in that case.

Speaking of the cargo area numbers, standard models offer around 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 60.3 of the total volume. The Coupe offers around 22 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 54.3 cubic feet in total.

Features

Considering the big updates that are coming in terms of exterior and interior, it makes perfect sense to expect novelties in terms of new standards and available equipment. At this point, it’s hard to talk about details but we presume that some of the currently-optional features could become part of the standard equipment.

For reference, the current list of standard equipment includes goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker hi-fi stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, dual-zone climate control, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay etc. Among options, you can find goodies like a 14-speaker Bose stereo, a 21-speaker Burmester stereo, wireless device charging, a rear-seat entertainment system, a panoramic sunroof and quad-zone automatic climate control.

2024 Porsche Cayenne Engines

We could also see some 2024 Porsche Cayenne changes under the hood. The engine lineup will probably remain the same but some of the units could get a power increase. The current model comes standard with a 3.0-liter turbo V6, with a max output of around 355 horsepower.

One of the engines that could get a power boost is the 2.9-liter twin-turbo, which currently puts out 434 horsepower. The 4.0-liter V8 could also come with some upgrades. Currently, this unit comes in three variants, with either 453, 541 and 631 horsepower.

There are also two hybrid versions, which will probably carry on, though smaller modifications are also possible. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is based on the V6 engine and delivers a total output of 455 horsepower. On the other hand, the Turbo S E-Hybrid comes with a system that’s based on the V8 engine. The combined output goes all away up to 670 horsepower.

All units come coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2024 Porsche Cayenne Release Date and Price

We expect that the updated model will arrive sometime in the second half of 2023. The price shouldn’t be much higher compared to the current model, which starts at around 70.000 dollars. The competition remains the same, in the form of models like the BMW X5 and X6, Maserati Levante etc.
