The Macan SUV has been Porsche’s best-selling vehicle since 2016. According to the latest news, the new all-electric iteration of the compact luxury crossover is set for next year. Despite carrying the well-known Porsche look, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV will be built on a new electric platform that will also accommodate the Audi A6 e-tron in the future.

Although Porsche has not yet revealed the Macan EV’s engine, the company promises it will have a far greater range than the Taycan. The current electric vehicle, which has an EPA-rated range of just 227 miles, utilizes the 800-volt electrical design, allowing quick charging. Most likely, the Macan EV trims will be the same as the ones with a gas engine. The GTS model and the more powerful S model will have the best performance. The new Porsche EV version, as far as we know, will be sold alongside the regular Macan.

The company has been testing the all-electric 2024 Porsche Macan, but they haven’t taken off the disguises yet. So, we still don’t have a good idea of how it will look. However, in the most recent batch of photographs that our informants have provided us with, we get our first good glance. We saw two separate front bumper designs for the base model and the “Turbo” variant.

It looks like the bumpers on most of the prototypes were based on the Turbo model, which had larger, more angular intakes. Anyway, the lower part of the bumper has a different layout. Even on previous prototypes that were more covert, Porsche tried to confuse us with the sloping fastback-style shape of the roof and the C-form pillar. The exact form of the rear light bar is the only aspect of the vehicle that is not shown in these newly released images, which otherwise provide a clear view of the roofline and virtually the whole vehicle.

First Look Inside

The dashboard of the 2024 Porsche Macan EV looks quite similar to the one seen in the Taycan flagship model. It has a curved display for the driver and a combination of touch and tactile buttons in the center tunnel. A standard Porsche steering wheel from the most recent generation is included as well. The start button is still to the left of the steering wheel, where it has always been. However, the controls for the gearbox have been moved to the right.

You may outfit your Porsche’s infotainment system with a wide variety of high-tech amenities. However, by doing that, it will cost you extra money. Everyone in the cabin should be able to keep their electronic gadgets fully charged since there are few USB ports. Apple CarPlay and a Wi-Fi hotspot are included as standard features, but the Macan does not have Android Auto.

2024 Porsche Macan EV Motor Specifications and Range

Porsche says that the electric SUV will be able to go much farther on a single charge than the current Taycan. In case you didn’t know, this model can go up to 227 miles, according to the EPA. However, official range figures won’t be available until the reveal of the Macan EV.

It is possible that only the longer-range model with the larger battery will be available in the United States despite Porsche’s plans to offer two different battery sizes, just like they did with the Taycan. This is due to the fact that the majority of Taycan buyers in the United States opted for the longer-range model. It is anticipated that the Macan EV will make use of the 800-volt architecture that is present in the Taycan. This design enables quick charging at up to 270 kilowatts.

Release Date and Price

The new 2024 Macan EV is set to debut in 2023. The front and back will look different, but the overall shape will be the same as the gas-powered Macan. This SUV will be one of the first cars to ride on a new electric architecture made by Audi.

We predict that the Porsche Macan EV will start at roughly $80,000. Interestingly, this is making it a little less expensive than the Taycan, Porsche’s flagship EV. Most likely, the top-of-the-line GTS model will surpass $100,000. As the electric crossover’s release date gets closer, more details about the Macan EV prices will become available.
