The family-friendly SUV, the 2024 Subaru Forester, will continue to offer strong value, standard all-wheel drive, and a very spacious cabin. However, considering that the Forester got a redesign last year, the new model will come relatively unchanged, featuring minor trim changes. This means it will use the same 2.5-liter flat-four-cylinder engine that makes 182 horsepower.
We expect the new SUV to hit stores next year, continuing its rivalry with the Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Kia Sportage. Here’s everything that we know so far about this amazing crossover SUV.
Will the New 2024 Subaru Forester Be Redesigned?
The exterior of the 2024 Subaru Forester will be restyled, but don’t expect any significant changes at all. The new SUV will get a refreshed front fascia with a new headlight and a new bumper. The base version unfortunately doesn’t come with roof rails, but they are optional here.
The rest of the lineup has them as standard equipment. Anyway, if you’re looking for something more unique and recognized, the manufacturer has so far offered the Wilderness model. This version comes with a slightly raised ride height and also adds an extra skid plate up front, plus a dedicated grille treatment.
Like its predecessor, the new 2024 Subaru Forester is modern and spacious inside. The 2-row/5-passenger crossover offers 39.4 inches of legroom behind, which is more than some midsize sedans have. Cargo space is 28.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats or 74.2 with seats down. On the technology front, the Forester comes standard with cloth upholstery, Bluetooth, satellite radio, a CD player, two USB ports, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration.
As for driver assistance, it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. Of course, upper trims will bring more features. For example, the Touring, along with memory settings for the driver’s seat, also includes a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, temperature adjustment through gesture control, and more.
2024 Subaru Forester Engine Specs
Just like before, the new 2024 Subaru Forester will continue to use the same engine. This model uses a 2.5-liter flat-4 that is capable of producing 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. This is good for the engine that comes without a turbocharger.
The power is sent through an automatic transmission to all four wheels as standard. We’re also expecting to see a Forester Wilderness version that has a slightly different transmission setup, resulting in lower fuel economy compared to the rest of the Forester range.
Is the 2024 Subaru Foresters Worth it?
The most basic version of the 2024 Subaru Forester will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $25,195, plus a destination charge. On the other hand, the Subaru Forester Wilderness will start below $33k, while the top Touring trim will be around $35,000.
Compared to other rivals, the new Forester is in line with the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Tucson. So, if you’re looking for a crossover SUV that offers a spacious cabin filled with plenty of standard equipment, it is definitely worth waiting for this model.
