2024 Volkswagen Tiguan First Look at the Recently Spotted Testing Mule

It seems that the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan will adopt some design cues from the next-generation ID.4 EV. The forthcoming SUV has recently been spotted undergoing testing in Europe, and it reveals a profile that is much sleeker and curvier than its predecessor. It has an upper body that looks like the Touareg, which is the SUV’s bigger brother.

The new Tiguan will reportedly share the same powertrain as the current Mk8 model, and it will ride on the same MQB Evo underpinnings. We expect Volkswagen to make a high-performance version of the Tiguan R. It will probably have a powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift

The front end of the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan has been given a complete makeover as part of the vehicle’s overall revamp. In addition, we found that the front bumper had been changed, the radiator grille had been made larger, and the LED lights had been upgraded. Alloy wheel designs have evolved over time, and their diameters now range from 17 to 20 inches.

Just below the new VW logo that is located on the tailgate is the name “Tiguan” written in a very small script. The most popular trim level is the SE R-Line Black, which comes standard with black 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a headliner to give the car a more aggressive look.

Completely Revamped Interior

The interior and exterior of the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan will be completely revamped. In general, we believe the seating configuration will remain the same, which means there should be enough space for five people. The seats, on the other hand, will be more comfy, and the top trim will be made of beautiful leather.

The cargo capacity provided ranges from 12 to 65.3 cubic feet. When equipped with all-wheel drive, these figures rise to 37.6 and 73.4 cubic feet, respectively. On the technological front, the Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to sport a bigger infotainment system to replace the existing 8-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as with keyless entry and ignition, heated front seats, Wi-Fi, and other goodies. When it comes to safety, the new SUV includes blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic warning.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Engine Specs

The existing Mk8 engine lineup will likely be used in the redesigned 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. We also expect Volkswagen to release a brand-new electric model that will probably include two electric motors. Sadly, VW hasn’t yet provided any numbers on the impending EV vehicle.

A high-performance Tiguan R model is also expected, and it may use the same engine as the Golf R. In case you were unaware, the modern Golf R has a powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 235kW.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Price, Release Date

The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan will introduce significant changes over the outgoing model. Despite everything, we expect the new SUV to be more expensive. The current VW Tiguan S starts at $22,295 and goes up to $36,970 for the SEL R-Line. In terms of affordability, those prices are similar to the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Hyundai Tucson.

It’s also important to note that the Subaru Forester costs less and comes standard with all-wheel drive. VW will release further details before the new-generation vehicle goes on sale next year.
