So, if you’re looking for a big SUV that can offer up to eight passengers and that’s ideal for the haul, the full-size segment is the right place to look for such types of models.
Besides large size, this class also offers more benefits than the mid-size segment. However, considering their weight, they require some serious power to move them. The segment’s most advanced nowadays engines are a twin-turbo V-6 and a turbodiesel. These machines are excellent for hauling a significant number of people and towing. So, let’s make a list of the Best Large – Full-size SUVs for 2022 -2023.
2022 Chevrolet Suburban
One of the most giant SUVs in the full-size segment is definitively the new 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. This module is redesigned last year, boasting an attractive design, a more spacious interior, plenty of high-end features, and an independent rear suspension. However, entering its second year on showroom floors, we expect the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban to be a carryover model. Generally speaking, the upcoming version will retain the same overall design as the current model. The Chevrolet Suburban is the most recognized SUV, thanks to its thin headlights, a massive grille, and a tall hood that stand out from the rest of the models. Despite the refreshed styling, this model remains enormous boxy on wheels with a good rear end.
On the inside, like the current Suburban, the new one features the same modern cabin that includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, Wi-Fi hot spot, eight USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system as standard equipment. Interestingly, the last complete redesign happened in 2017, and the Japanese automaker makes this SUV more competitive. More recently, the Armada received a slight refresh last year. So, we should expect the 2022 Armada to be a carryover model. On the inside, the Armada is featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen on the top of the dash. The luxury flagship model, 2022 Cadillac Escalade, achieved many updates last year. However, for 2022, we should expect only mild updates in terms of styling. In addition, to ensure everyone enjoys the ride, the manufacturer added more standard amenities.
The base model includes a 14.2-inch OLED instrument cluster, a 7.2-inch driver information touchscreen, and a mammoth 16.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Lastly, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder is once again available, allowing the Escalade to tow up to 8,200 pounds. We expect the fresh new 2022 Cadillac Escalade to hit markets this fall, starting at $77,500.

If you didn’t know, this SUV is offered with two body-style configurations. There is a regular SUV and the bigger Navigation L. The standard model measures 210-inch in length, while the extended one Navigator L 222-inch. Eider way, both models will ride on the same Ford T3 platform as their predecessors. Interestingly, the Ford Expedition uses the same platform, and it will also receive a similar mid-cycle refresh for the 2022 model year as well.

We also expect Ford to introduce a hybrid option as well, and many reports aiming at the Ford’s 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6. This powertrain under the Ford F-150 is rated to produce 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The fourth-generation model will arrive at the end of this year, with a significantly higher price than the current models, $76,000.
2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL
If you are looking for a sizeable full-size family SUV, then the new 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are worth considering. Both versions are an excellent option for transporting or towing. Redesigned last year, the arrival of the new Yukon confirmed, and buyers can expect a much longer list of improvements. Still, its front is recognized thanks to a massive grille with black horizontal slats on the AT4 model or a Galvano chrome mesh on the Denali trim. LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, and LED fog lights complete this attractive SUV look. In addition, the Yukon XL is offering 15.2 inches of extra length over the regular Yukon. Thanks to that, and with all the seats folded, it provides 144 cubic feet for whatever you need to haul.

Entering its second model year on sale since the full redesign, we expect the new Tahoe to be a carryover model. Like the outgoing version, the new one features the same enormous grille that dominates on the front. However, the grille sits in between thin headlights with C-shaped LED daytime running lights.
On the other hand, its cabin offers more room than you can imagine. As a result, the new Tahoe provides more cargo space and more space in the third row than previous model years. Standard tech features include a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio system, Wi-Fi hot spot, six USB ports, and Bluetooth. Like before, Tahoe should remain to cost $50,000.
2022 Toyota Land Cruiser
According to the latest leaked information, the new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser will debut on May 31 or June 1. From the first renderings, the design of this SUV will be drastically improved over the previous generation. As we can see, it features a completely refreshed front fascia, including a revised grille and better headlights graphics. The leaked specifications also reveal available trim levels and much more. For example, the GR-S trim will be the only one that should be available with an electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System technology with front and rear differential locks. However, the more luxurious version is a ZX. This trim comes with more chrome accents and 20-inch wheels vs. 18-inch alloys on the GR-S trim.
Interestingly, both models will come standard with 12.3-inch infotainment and a 14-speaker JBL sound system. However, the most topping trim will also get four-zone climate control, head-up display, and rear-seat entertainment system with dual 11.6-inch touchscreens.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser will be available with two engine options. The first one is a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 gasoline unit that delivers 409 horsepower, while the other powertrain is a 3.3-liter diesel V6 rated at 302 hp. The next-generation, 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser, could hit markets in 2022, but that remains unofficial at this point.
2022 Infiniti QX80
One of the oldest SUVs in the class, Infinity QX80, might finally get a redesign for the following year. Since it arrived, the QX80 has been redesigned a couple of times. This big, blocky SUV continues to run into its second generation, featuring the same design language. However, for 2022, some mild changes will happen, mostly on the front fascia. The last redesign was in 2018, and it still looks fresh. Generally, for nearly 209 inches in length, it’s a very big SUV.
Inside, the 2022 Infinity QX80 offers more upscale materials and premium leather seats as standard. However, its cabin is still stylish, featuring dual touchscreens and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Other standard equipment includes navigation, tri-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and a mighty 13-speaker Bose audio system. On top of that, the QX80 comes standard with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and active lane control.
Interestingly, the manufacturer continues to offer the QX80 with the same solo engine. However, a 5.6-liter V8 is an impressively powerful engine capable of producing 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. This engine drives the rear (or all four) wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. The most affordable model starts at $69,050, while AWD QX80 Luxe costs around $72,150. According to Infiniti, the release date will happen sometime at end of the year.
2023 Toyota Sequoia
The fresh-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia has been rendered, and we must admit, it looks way better than before. If you didn’t know, the name “Sequoia” is very popular in America because of the redwood trees. However, aside from woods and trees, the SUV version is also famous, and it offers attractive styling. An interesting fact is that the last model was a facelift in 2017, and the new one is still nowhere near as fresh as its main rival, Chevrolet Suburban. The first renderings reveal body-on-frame SUV that features the same design language. In addition, mild upgrades are visible, mostly on the front and rear fascia. That includes a refreshed grille, new headlights, and taillights.
On the inside, we cannot be sure what Toyota will add new. We know that the same layout will remain, featuring a spacious cabin and enough room to fit up to eight passengers. Many fans are hoping that cabin will be completely new. However, we are thinking otherwise, and we are expecting the same luxury as its predecessor.
Toyota offers only one engine choice with the Sequoia, and it’s very powerful. Although not the most powerful engine in this class, a 5.7-liter V8 is producing 381-horsepower. Thanks to a powerful engine, the Sequoia provides enough power to tow up to 7,400 pounds. The new 2022 model should once again cost around $50,000 or slightly above that. As for the sales, they will begin in the last quarter of 2021.
